Much of the violence in Mexico has to do with the open border. How easy it is to escape and avoid justice on one side while committing violent crimes on the other.
The FBI is looking like a joke, they pretend they have no clue - but they've had every reason to know about the problems in that Consulate, they allowed things to go on that should not have been tolerated, in a sense they are as guilty as anything else.
