...thats why the border should be kept open, for these kind, hardworking people to have a means to make a better life, right?

It's two different issues. While there is some over-lap - most illegals are not involved in supplying the needs of American pot-heads.

True, they are more interested in parting Americans from their money, both legally and illegally.

Yup, but I think that a lot of illegal immigrants aren't aware of what they are doing to legal residents and citizens and what they are taking from them. That's the problem with illegal immigration and various government's approach to it. They play the "They are just here for a better life" approach, but they ignore the effects on people who are already here. There are numerous negative effects of the illegal immigration that this country goes through and the government can't just ignore those things because of "Oh poor illegal immigrants, they only come here for a better life."

Once the government stops making what happens to us (legal residents) less important than the illegal immigrants quest for a better life, we'll be OK. However, for now, for some reason, the Obama administration and the governments are making illegal immigrants needs more important than ours.

What is the basis for your assertion? If we don’t even know “who” they are, how can you assume what percentage are involved in drug trafficking or other criminal enterprises? After all, they are here for money. I doubt they care how they get it.

Many illegals are trafficked by a coyote and 2 forms of payment are required. Either cold hard cash in US dollars or if you don't have the money, you need to sneak drugs across the border, sell it, and give the proceeds to the coyote, or suffer the consequences

Yes, I have heard that. Given that many do not have the cash, it is not farfetched to assume they are in fact bringing drugs into this country to “earn” their illegal entry. I don’t know why so many are hell-bent on portraying illegals as being paragons of virtue.

I don't know either but since when do bleeding hearts make sense? Their thinking patterns are based around warm fuzzy feelings, not logic

We have a 9.5% unemployment rate. How many more unskilled laborers do we need. The slave wages they earn can't support their household. We pay welfare for their anchor babies, while they wire their paychecks back to Mexico. Seal the border.

If your home was is invaded by mice, would you first set the traps, or seal all the openings to prevent more mice from entering your home?

That's what I keep saying, and to also limit legal immigration even more. The amount of LEGAL immigrants we let in every year, let alone illegals, is unsustainable.
