A new survey by Zogby International finds that people in Mexico think that granting legal status to illegal immigrants in the United States would encourage more illegal immigration to the United States. As the top immigrant-sending country for both legal and illegal immigrants, views on immigration in Mexico can provide insight into the likely impact of an amnesty, as well as other questions related to immigration.

* An overwhelming majority (69 percent) of people in Mexico thought that the primary loyalty of Mexican-Americans (Mexico- and U.S.-born) should be to Mexico. Just 20 percent said it should be to the United States. The rest were unsure.

Zogby: 56% of all Mexicans would consider moving to the US if another amnesty is passed
Incorrect. It says 56% believe that amnesty would increase illegal immigration. Not that 56% would move.

scary stuff, just shows that an amnesty will NOT do anything to halt illegal immigration.

In regards to why "amnesty" is given: The only reason why Reagan-style unconditional amnesty was given to many Salvadorans was because the US was directly involved in, and aggravated, the Salvadoran civil war.

The US has no direct involvement in Mexican politics now that it had in Salvador in the 1980s. The idea that the borders should be totally open is a silly idea.

Bogus poll from a racist website. Do you have a direct link to Zogby? I think not, because it doesn't exist. Some interesting statements from the website you provided. Gee , I wonder why the anti immigration crowd is labeled racist. Can't say I'm surprised.

- Majority of Whites bothered by changing demographics
- Overall, blacks are 9 times more likely to commit murder than white
- Expelling illegals would benefit Blacks
- Ron Paul slams Lindsay Graham over anti White comment
- We also oppose all efforts to mix the races of mankind, to promote non-white races over the European-American people through so-called “affirmative action” and similar measures,

That's insulting. I am "anti" illegal immigration and I am not racist. You're just as bad as the person you are trying to talk about.

A poster puts a link to a White power website and you attack me for pointing this out. Like I said, I'm not surprised.

Thanks for clearing that up. Like so many laws, it started out in the right direction but it back fired big time and now some idiots think it should be repeated..

Please explain why the majority of border patrol and a large number of LE in border areas are Hispanic? Are they racist too? Does having a job that is in any type of LE make that person racist?

Illegal immigration is not a race.

Give it a rest, seriously.

How does one migrate if they don't move?
