"NM to require appointments for immigrant licenses"

SANTA FE - New Mexico is requiring illegal immigrants and other foreign nationals seeking a driver's license to make an appointment at a Motor Vehicle Division office, rather than walking in at any time for the transaction.
MVD Director Michael Sandoval said the change, which takes effect next week, should improve security by ensuring clerks have enough time to review applicants' identification documents.

It also should reduce the waiting time for customers in an MVD office because issuing licenses to foreign nationals is among the most time-consuming transactions handled by the agency.

at least they are getting on the right track. legal residents should not be held up. Why is it that only south western states are trying to solve the problem?

Here is my idea. Schedule appointments for say 2 or 3 hundred illegals for the same day. Pretend that you are taking them for a drivers test. Down the road have ICE waiting. Nailed....

it is about time they start to do something. Not that this will make a hell of a lot of difference, but it is a step in the right direction and then when they elect a great GOP governor maybe things will get even better.
