Any action against Los Angeles will be strongly opposed starting with the Catholic archbishop who has vowed to resist any attempt to deport immigrants.

I agree and its likely to be address not in a state that is pro-illegals by passing a law and then waiting for court challengewhen enforced or before if the federal governamnt or group wants to challenge it. Should be interesting.Tyhe fine on employers was left i the ariizona laws which allows sate fine at higher rates;and is similar.

Looks like the judge retained the part where it is illegal to provide sanctuary cities, so all is not lost here with this bill.

Yes, I know the difference but Cardinal Mahony clearly informed the government that his priests would lay down in front the ICE vehicle to stop any immigrant's deportation, and he means it.

The priests are more likely to lay down in front of an ICE CREAM truck as long as there were some little kids hanging around it.

As a Catholic I can say the church should shut up. When they start paying taxes to pay for the services they demand be given to illegals, then they can join the conversation on illegal immigration.

We might have to re-think your tax exempt status if you choose to obstruct the law of the united states because you support illegal immigration.

oh you are in trouble now; God will get you for that! I am Catholic also and mostly fed up with the church but I do know how much power Cardinal Mahony wields. He leads the immigrate rights demonstrations and will make lots of problems for the government over this issue.
