The US is the only nation on earth that permits this.

Funny how the antis on this board discount scientific polls, but love unreliable internet based polls.

Why punish the children? How about punishing those who encourage illegal immigration?

I don't consider it punishing the children to not give them instant citizenship by virtue of their parent's illegal act. Is it punishment for them to made citizens of their parent's homeland? I don't think so since their heritage lays in their parent's homeland.

Its their own parents who didnt care enough about them to have put them in this predicament. Some of them even have siblings that were born in mexico, and the parents just left them there. I care enough about the children to want them to go home, then they wont have to worry about their parents being deported. It seems to really cause them a lot of stress & worry, which I dont blame them for having. But I do blame the parents! You really have to wonder how much the illegals care about their kids. Are they truly loved or just used as pawns & meal tickets? I dont know about you, but I'd Never put my kids in this kind of situation..

Can you imagine putting this kind of pressure on a young child? These kids have to always wonder if mom & dad are going to be there when they get home from school, and thats the Parents fault!!! So I dont feel we who are against illegals are "punishing" the kids...we are the ones who think the parents criminal behavior needs to be addressed & punished, and the children should feel safe from losing their parents in THEIR own country.

So how is a baby getting citizenship from the country their parents are from punishment?

All that would happen is this: The baby does not get US citizenship. The parents therefore go back to their country of origin, problem solved.
