Just like we aren't allowed to enforce our immigration laws either because it is racist but ok for other countries to. Didn't you get the memo?

The reason for changing birthright citizenship in this country is because that isn't what the writers of that amendment intended and because it is being blatantly abused by millions of illegal aliens in our country. There is no logical reason that children of illegal aliens should be granted our citizenship by their parents breaking of our immigration laws.

As one poster mentioned, does it make any sense that children of diplomats who were invited here are not granted instant citizenship just because they were born on our soil but children of illegal aliens whose parents were not invited here and in fact are here in violation of our laws, should be?
The intent of the 14th Amendment is arguable. That is the essence of this challenge. Argument is the essence of being a lawyer. I am not saying it is right, or wrong for that matter. I am just saying that it is.

If you are asking if I was born in this country, the answer is yes. Do I have Native Americans ancestors, the answer is also yes. How is this relevant?

No, her African ancestors were not “immigrants,” they were slaves.

When pro-illegals can't make an argument supporting their pro-illegal views, they always resort to the Native American card, just like with most other arguments they get flounced on they use the race card as a last resort. Wanted to rep Opyelie but I couldn't for catching that

Default Wth?

What the heck are "pro-illegal" views? And who typically has them?

Pro-illegals are those who defend, support, justify, and/or profit from illegal aliens. They also tend to demonize all who dare oppose illegal immigration. Lacking a cogent argument, they frequently use the “race card” to vilify opposition.

It is short for pro-illegal aliens aka advocaters for them. The greedy employers are pros because they like the cheap labor. The libs and far lefties are pros because they lack common sense and logic and suffer from misplaced compassion. Some politicans in both parties are pros because they want the Hispanic vote and to appease the greedy employers. The ethnocentric racists are pros because they think their illegal ethnic kind should be above our laws and they want to turn us into a Hispanic nation through numbers and therefore gain political and cultural control. Hope that answers your question.

It does indeed and it was meant as a gauge / test of sorts. Kudos for a fairly well rounded response. It is important to stress that this issue goes beyond political parties as is so often overlooked. Greed knows no party. Cheap labor (in CA often using illegal aliens) is a staple of many a corporation at some level. Sadly, many of these corporate types do it silently and seemingly invisible to the general public.

I was called pro-illegal more than once but by this definition, I am clearly not. More accurately, I am a taxpaying, "middle" class individual who wants to see everyone contribute to this society and reap whatever benefits, if any, that come with being a legal, taxpaying citizen.
