Well, they're slowly but surely taking over America. Before they were concentrated in the west coast but not anymore. They are in EVERY county in the US. Some states can be saved. Small towns need to pull together and show no service to the illegals and make them feel unwelcomed. They also need to boycott the employers if possible. Call ICE and other agencies, if they do nothing then get your voice heard through the press. If we wait any longer the small towns and rural areas will be too far gone to recover. Post up signs through out your small town. Seeing someone in person doing something about it motivates someone to follow your lead WAY more then over the internet. Everyone that has a half hour of time should go out to their small towns and post a few signs. It's the only way this can be stopped but peope don't seem to give a .....

We never used to see too many in our small city here and I was always told I was "imagining" an illegal problem in this country. I think it was becasue I had worked and lived in east coast cities and saw the trends that were happening back there at the time. Then about 2 years ago some major new housing projects got under way here and suddenly we got inundated with illegals who snapped up every job available in construction and the locals were dumbfounded, no locals were used on any of those projects and now they see the problem. Most people, if they don't "see" their town or city being taken over don't "see" a problem happening and don't concern themselves with it all, unless and until it effects their pocket. Now they are very interested in stopping the tide of illegals and I hope it's not too late but I am losing hope to tell the truth.

I agree with so many of you have had to say here, so much truth. But lets face it, we can only do so much, we have got to have a Government that is on our side here, come on now, Our Government has got to care, what is it going to take, to get them to actually give a damn, and one party in particular does not seem to think that we have a problem. That is our problem.

You are right of course. It all comes down to our government being the biggest culprit in all of this. Far too many of our politicians are about greed, money, power and votes than the best interests of this country and its citizens. This problem wouldn't have accelerated to the numbers we have here today without those self-serving government officials allowing it to.

We have to rid congress of all those who aren't for strict enforcement of our immigration laws and securing our borders by any means necessary. I hope this November will only be the start of this house cleaning and that all future politicans will know why and that is "we are mad as hell and aren't going to take it anymore".

New Mexico isn't a hot spot for illegals - not like Texas and California. You can't assume every Spanish-surnamed person is here illegally - in fact New Mexico has always had the Spanish-surnamed - from even before it was part of the USA but they aren't here illegally at all.

Two big reasons: 1. New Mexico doesn't have as generous of welfare programs as states like Texas and New Mexico. 2. Even though NM hands out drivers licenses to illegals, the illegals don't have to actually live in that state to get them and in fact many illegals with NM drivers licenses never did live there.

Oh and one of the biggest reasons: New Mexico has a large Native American population. Some people might look at an Indian and think they see an illegal from Mexico but they're very far off. A lot of NM is Indian Reservation and for obvious reasons, illegals don't sneak into those. Not that there aren't many illegals in NM, but there aren't as many as other states further from the border.

What gets me is these Mexican illegals and their advocates claim the stolen land argument when Mexicans never occupied the northeast or anywhere else other than some southwestern territories for a short period of time. Yet they are all over the U.S. now.

Much better map from Pew...

Illegal Immigration in the U.S.: State-by-State Totals - Graphic - Pew Hispanic Center (http://pewhispanic.org/unauthorized-immigration/ - broken link)

Note that AZ actually has far less of an illegal problem than say CA or NV. Those states don't seem to have the problem that AZ has. Could it be AZ rather than the illegals?

Yeah, that must be it. It can't be because AZ grew some balls and got fed up with the half million illegals that THEY do have.
