Publicans won't do anything because millionaire businessmen like cheap labor. Demoncrats won't do anything because they see millions more potential voters.

It took about 2 seconds to find this which is in the Christian Sceince Monitor, but was all over the web last week.

In 2009, the United States deported a record 387,790 people – a 5 percent increase over 2008. Nearly two months before the end of the 2010 federal fiscal year, the deportation rate is down slightly from 2009, but the number of removals is still likely to be more than triple what it was in 2001.
The numbers come from a recently released study by Syracuse University in New York. Among the other significant findings: An increasing share of deportees are immigrants who have been convicted of a crime, reflecting President Obama's desire to reorient the deportation process toward targeting criminals.
Critics of Mr. Obama worry that the focus on criminals could mean a pass for most noncriminal illegal immigrants. They also note that deportation alone does not represent a comprehensive immigration policy. But the deportation trend does run counter to many perceptions in border states and beyond about federal anti-illegal immigration efforts.

The numbers of deportations, especially those with criminal records is higher......that that was BEFORE the call for drastically increased hiring fo border guards and moving the NG to the border.

Well do the crimes end with illegal entry?
Doubtful.
Tax evasion and fraud.
ID theft.
Driving without a valid drivers license.
This just to name a few quick and easy ones. What happens to legal citizens for the same crimes?
Well its not just a slap on the wrist, nor is over looked as a victimless crime.
What has Obama done to curb illegal immigration is the thread topic.
Well not much not really. His Aunt received a free pass. He calls for Amnesty like reforms. He kissed up to the President of Mexico. He called AZ's law a racist law without really taking the time to read it.
He has not pushed for enforcement of our laws. Infact a recent memo would indicate the opposite might be true.
So what has this admin done? Less than nothing.

The Obama Administration has dedicated an unprecedented
amount of resources to securing the border and combating the
flows of drugs, weapons, and cash on the borders. During the past
year, since the Southwest Border Initiative was launched, the
Administration has:
 Doubled the personnel assigned to Border Enforcement
Security Task Forces by deploying additional Immigration
and Customs Enforcement (ICE) special agents;
 Tripled the number of ICE intelligence analysts focused on
cartel violence along the Southwest border;
 Quintupled deployments of ICE Border Liaison Officers.
 Begun screening, for the first time, 100 percent of
southbound rail shipments for illegal weapons, drugs, and
cash;
 Deployed thousands of technology assets along the
Southwest Border and currently has 150 operational aerial
assets along the Southwest border.
 Deployed two new DEA SWB enforcement groups in El Paso
and Phoenix, and added 25 new DEA intelligence analysts;
 Deployed two new FBI Border Corruption Task Forces in
Del Rio and Houston.
 Added 200 new U.S. Marshal service positions including
Deputy U.S. Marshals and Asset Forfeiture Criminal
Investigators at the Southwest Border to increase fugitive
apprehension and cross border violent crime response; to
identify and seize the financial assets of the cartels; to
