...That is my question. I am not interested in personal beliefs, but HARD FACTS. Has there been a significant difference in border control since Obama has become president? What are the numbers, what are the FACTS?? Can anyone help me w/ the specifics?

more meaningless gestures. live scan thumb print boxes at every gov checkpoint would do the trick.
cheap readily available and recommended by kerry in the bush/kerry debates, kerry was openly jeered by bush. kerry however was right.

I am asking for cold, hard facts, such as troops at the border, etc. Saw Janet Napolitano on CNN talking about this the other day: What are the hard facts? Having a hard time coming up with any stats, would appreciate to find out if we are any better off than we were w/ the previous administration. HAVE we sent more troops to the border?? Have we made a dent in the tide of illegal immigrants pouring over the border???

I know in my part of the country, more are coming over the border than ever.

Since unemployment is way up and our economy is in the tank, they now claim they are coming here because they're afraid of the violence in their own country. Tens of thousands have recently arrived here - low estimates are 30,000, higher estimates are 80,000 - and that's just to one city.

Obama did grant $600 MIL bill toward border patrol. In the bill there's a $10 MIL earmark for investigators to stop corruption in the border patrol.

That's more than what any President has done about it in a very long time. I'm not by any means an Obama fan, but I honestly think he's trying.

The main 'corruption' in the Border Patrol is located in Washington D.C.... not here. New 'offices' and more house cat bureaucrats do nothing. BP needs more vehicles... and replacement vehicles. SUV's... vans and off road stuff. They could prob'ly use more mounted units... yeah... w/horses. Surveillance does nothing w/o apprehension capability. Let's get it right... 'Obama' doesn't grant 'squat'. Congress make the appropriations. He signs the checks. Form up a local posse with that $600 Million 'n this border would be tighter than a drum in a week.

With the thousands still pouring over the border, one has to wonder why they KEEP citing the old figure of 12 million illegals in this country, considering they've BEEN citing that figure for at least a decade now.

Are they too damn scared to even TRY to give a figure closer to the truth?

Yes, I know this and I think you already knew what I meant.

I agree more needs to be done. I wish they'd allocate some money to finishing the border fence. Just putting guards alone there isn't going to help.

@huck, do you really think he'll try and push amnesty through even though he knows most of the US is against it?
