When it gets mixed up with politics it gets 'screwy'.
If that’s the case, I hope few will vote for him. Incursions from Mexico are a real threat, and we don’t need political posturing when people’s lives are at stake. This is inexcusable. Thanks for the info.

What I'd really like to know is the motivation of the person(s) who told the sheriff such a thing. Supposedly it was someone in the BP but I don't believe that either, unless it was a really dumb one. I know that there are things a BP agent cannot say in public because of security but they have always answered my questions. It isn't ALWAYS reassuring but I do believe they are honest with me because of that. I can generally count on them for the real story on different issues.

I won't be voting for him but then he's not in my county. If he was I wouldn't be voting for him though. I really hate it when people do things to bring attention to themselves that are so negative. Not to mention untrue. The "truths" are bad enough, IMO.

Well, now. Either the Sheriff is retreating or he is not retreating.

The Sheriff was stumping for grant money for a Border Interdiction Unit, in addition to the multi-agency unit already working. He got one. Might that have something to do with his grand-standing?

I don't know whether his little video there was misused by that "news" organization or not. Perhaps they cut out the parts of it which explained his comments. I doubt it.

Had you paid attention to my earlier posts, you would have noticed I posted the national warnings about Mexico -- your link is repeating what I've already posted.

No one is stating there is a news blackout re: travel warnings.

Can't say I read the entire thread. On account of I didn't. But had you read, i.e., paid attention, to the links from the State Dept. you will find much more info than a travel warnings. Sppecifically the most violent states in Mexico, info on the gangs, murders of Americans, etc. So very clearly, there is no news blackout. The information if freely available to anyone.

But you'd have to read the entire link. Not just the headlines.

CA doesn't see it that way. I can get in big trouble carrying a firearm during archery season. Even the BP guys I hunt with carry during bow because the law is so asinine with the current mess we have with all the Illegals in the area.

I hardly think a government travel warning site is "in the news".

I live in Cochise County, it looks like Dever has sold his soul to John McCain. Too bad I supported him in the last election but the Border Patrol is everywhere here. Enforcement here has doubled
