I hope the Justice Department sues any state that legalizes racial profiling, that's kinda sorta their job.

I hope the Justice Department pulls its head out of its collective asses and realizes that the rights of American citizens outweigh any discomfort felt by those who are in this country in blatant violation of sovereign U.S. law.

They have, that's why they are suing Arizona.

Depends how many of them actually adopt those bills, and whether those states have the same disputed statutes that Arizona's package has.

Out of the states mentioned in the article, I think bills (I haven't looked at them to see exactly what they have) have a good chance of passing in several, especially rural Southern and rural Western states.

Florida, Pennsylvania, and Texas have large urban constituencies that would oppose at least some of those stipulations (in the case of Texas some rural Hispanic constituencies would also be against the bill) - Also business interests would campaign against some of those stipulations, and business is king in Texas.

There was no racial profiling permitted in the Az law and the feds didn't sue them on the basis of that anyway.
