We are not a dumping ground for Mexico's poor. Like all sovereign nations we have a right to have standards for who we let in. Mexicans who are law abiding, are fluent in English, and work in fields we have needs in should be welcomed in appropriate numbers.

We need immigration enforcement that is more responsive to economic conditions. Right now many Americans would like to have jobs at McDonald's or Wal Mart that legal green card immigrants hold. If our economy improves in a few years we could open the dam a little more.

If we let all 3 billion people who want in to come tomorrow our economy/ civilization would collapse and the next generations would not have an America to come to. No country on earth has open borders.

Is it in the face of Obama or is it legislators continuing to give the constitution the finger?

With unemployment what it is, can we really afford any immigration, legal or illegal at this point?

Let's use common sense, instead of an agenda to answer that.

Yes, let's use common sense - try rereading the part of the post I quoted and bolded.

Let's just blame legal immigrants as well and take away their right to work.

They're ALREADY here - legally and have the same rights to work as USC.

You want to reduce legal immigration - fine - take that to the Politics or Legal immigration section, but don't include legal immigrants with the illegal immigration issue.

We're not Mexico's garbage dump. We have a right to let in Mexicans who have no criminal record, are proficient in English, and work in fields the American economy actually needs.
