Thumbs up Great News On Immigration Amnesty- June 28, 2007

Folks:

I think our harrassing of the crooks in the US Senate is paying off!! A Fox news report just came out stating that they think Thursday's Cloture vote will be 59 NOs (possibly even more) and that would kill this God-forsaken amnesty bill for good, as Senators are feeling the heat and are starting to fear the American people!!!

By 10:30am EST, the Senate will try another cloture vote and if we can call enough to MAKE THEM AFRAID OF BEING PRO-AMNESTY (ie. Senator Brownback R-KS for example is feeling a LOT of heat and staffers are very concerned because Brownback is runing for President), we can WIN!!!

Guys and Gals... leave messages on their answering machines! Fax them using NumbersUSA.com. E-mail them by going to U.S. Senate and select your Senator... pretty much ALL OF THEM have "contact me via -email" links!!

We CAN and we WILL WIN!!! Here is the news on Fox News (which is a reliable source of info, unlike ABC or NBC):

Senate Immigration Reform Bill Takes Step Toward the Grave
Wednesday, June 27, 2007

By Major Garrett and Trish Turner

WASHINGTON —

The fragile immigration reform bill crafted in the Senate faces sudden death Thursday when a second vote is scheduled to shut down a filibuster.

If supporters don't get the 60 votes they need to end debate, then the bill is dead since the Senate schedule does not allow any more time to revive the legislation.

Tuesday's vote to move onto the bill was 64-35, four votes more than was needed to keep the legislation alive. But if five Republicans are lost as a result of the amendment, then it's bye-bye bill.

Late Wednesday, two Republicans, Sens. Kit Bond of Missouri and Richard Burr of North Carolina, told FOX News that they will switch their vote and not try to prevent the filibuster. One Democrat who never votes against cloture, Sen. Ben Nelson of Nebraska, also told FOX News that he will vote "no" this time.

"Enough is enough. There have been seven cloture votes I've voted yes on. This is an extraordinary circumstance. But enough is enough. ... This clay pigeon is looking like a dead duck," Nelson said.

--> These are the Senators we have to HAMMER WITH PHONE CALLS

At least nine other senators told FOX News they are undecided or leaning toward a no vote. They include Democratic Sens. Mark Pryor, Jim Webb, Jeff Bingaman, Robert Menendez and Republican Sens. Ted Stevens, Lisa Murkowski, Pete Domenici, Judd Gregg and John Ensign.

A senior Democratic leadership aide involved in the crafting of the compromise bill said Reid and Minority Leader Mitch McConnell are meeting to talk about where they can get votes. Democrats have said they are at their ceiling and it would be hard to convince others like Sens. Evan Bayh, Mary Landrieu, Claire McCaskill and Debbie Stabenow to change their votes and support cloture.

Domenici, a one-time ardent supporter of the bill who is up for re-election in 2008, told FOX News that Republicans are "getting hammered here at home and for what? Something that doesn't even have the chance of becoming law? No. This bill is going down. ... Why are we having all these big amendments? They (supporters) don't even know what's in this bill. We learned it's not even enforceable. I just don't think I can support this bill."

Domenici added that a vote Tuesday night in the House GOP conference was very telling for him. Only 23 Republicans of 201 voted against a resolution of disapproval of the Senate measure. --> 178 Republicans in The House voted to send the US Senate a message: NO AMNESTY HERE!!

GUYS AND GIRLS... LET'S KEEP ON CALLING... I KNOW IT'S FREAKIN' LATE, I SHOULD BE IN BED, BUT I WILL NOT REST UNTIL THIS AMNESTY IS DEAD AND I DON'T CARE IF I HAVE TO BE UP ALL NIGHT TO FIGHT FOR THE UNITED STATES, THE COUNTRY I LOVE!!!

Here is the article: FOXNews.com - Senate Immigration Reform Bill Takes Step Toward the Grave - Politics | Republican Party | Democratic Party | Political Spectrum

This is an inspiring verse, I love. Even if tyou are not a Christian, this is an inspiration to me (at least):

Nehemiah 4:14-15:

"After I looked things over, I stood up and said to the nobles, the officials and the rest of the people, "Don't be afraid of them. Remember the Lord, who is great and awesome, and fight for your brothers, your sons and your daughters, your wives and your homes."

When our enemies heard that we were aware of their plot and that God had frustrated it..."

I FIGHT FOR THE FUTURE OF MY COUNTRY (MY HOME) AND MY FAMILY. I CANNOT GIVE UP AND I CANNOT REST UNTIL I KNOW WE HAVE SAVED AMERICA FROM THIS HORRIBLE AMNESTY!!

LET'S FIGHT FRIENDS.... ONE MORE DAY OF SACRIFICE CALLING, E-MAILING, AND FAXING AND WE WIN!!!

Thumbs up Yeah, let's keep the heat on. I am leaving messages to Senators right now!

Citigrl, we will win!! I believe we, the regular people have saved America!! Even Peter Domenici, a pro-amnesty Republican from NM is going to vote "NO" tomorrow on the amnesty!

Our hard work is paying off!! The Republicans are FINALLY listening to their base not because they are nice... BECAUSE THEY ARE AFRAID THE "LITTLE PEOPLE" WILL DESTROY THEM IN THE NEXT ELECTION (2008)!!

This what The Founding Fathers dreamed of... one day a corrupt and rogue government/branch of government would defy the peopel and the people would rebel (peacefully) and protest and the people would emerge victorious. That is why they insisted on things like Freedom of Speech and Freedom of the press.... and they created the "ultimate safeguard against tyranny: The 2nd Ammendment" just to be sure!

I am serious, I almost have tears in my eyes just thinking, we "peasants" have participated and worked hard in defeating an evil greater than terrorism or a natural disaster like Hurrican Katrina! An evil called "self-destruction". We are saving The United States of America from imploding from within!!! It is we, the people, who are defeating this horrible fate that the Senate Amnesty Bill would create in the USA!!

I need to go real quick and go e-mail my "little morons" (aka. US Senators who voted "yes" on Tuesday) as I want them to vote NO CLOTURE VOTE TOMORROW!!

We will post celebration posts here after 10:30am EST!!!

May God help America defeat this self-destroying bill!!!

Dang it.... the mailboxes for my Senators and the presidential hopeful senators are full.

I have already faxes blasted them all!

All I can only e-mail now. Dang it.

UPDATE: son of a biscuit!!! NOT 1 Senator's mailbox is not full at this time. I guess I need to hit the sack now and get up early tomorrow and get to the phones before 9:30am and make sure I get at least 5 calls in and hope they will get the messages before their votes.

Everyone please do the same if you can. I know we can win this.... but we must muster all our energy before 9:30am EST, because that is probably when Senators will leave their offices to get to the Senatr Floor (the voting area) and cast their vote!!

Victory is withion our grasp! No time to rest now!!

Thank you for everyone's help!!

Sent messages to my two traitorous senators. Voinovich is pretty much a lost cause, Brown there may be a glimmer of hope. At least I can count on Chabot to blast the bill if it ever makes it to the house.

Isn't it AMAZING that the American peolpe won this fight? How often has the American public SHUT DOWN THE SENATE PHONE SWITCHBOARD BECAUSE OF TOO MANY CALLS?

Guys and gals... we deserve a tap on the back. We, The People, won this fight against amnesty and politcians and traitors like Senator Voinovich (R-OH) and Mutch McConnell (R-KY) have learned that they either listed to the GOP base or they will be voted out.

Lindsey Graham (R-SC) is toast in 2008. He will be voted out.... I like his other pro-gun and moderate conservative votes, but the amnesty bill is a deal breaker. He is gone.

SENATORS SWITCHING VOTES FROM "YES" TO "NO" (12 Republicans, 6 Democrats): --> list of people who WE, The People, forced to side with the regular folks

• Sen. Jeff Bingaman, D-New Mexico
• Sen. Christopher Bond, R-Misouri
• Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio
• Sen. Sam Brownback, R-Kansas
• Sen. Richard Burr, R-North Carolina
• Sen. Norm Coleman, R-Minnesota
• Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine
• Sen. Pete Domenici, R-New Mexico
• Sen. John Ensign, R-Nevada
• Sen. Tom Harkin, D-Iowa
• Sen. Mitch McConnell, R-Kentucky
• Sen. Ben Nelson, D-Nebraska
• Sen. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska
• Sen. Mark Pryor, D-Arkansas
• Sen. Ted Stevens, R-Alaska
• Sen. George Voinovich, R-Ohio
• Sen. John Warner, R-Virginia
• Sen. James Webb, D-Virginia

Thumbs down A Nation of Immigrants

I seriously question how "a country that prides itself as a nation of immigrants" allows itself to be duped by uninformed, bigoted, and racists like the author of this post. I also now wonder why I spent the bulk of my adult life in the military and fought in two wars to defend the right of people of his ilk to have the freedom to express his misguided opinion. It is probably the overreaction of a coward who is afraid he might have to compete in the job market against persons who are better prepared for, or are willing to take, jobs that he either cannot, or will not do. Nevertheless, it is high time that all Americans wake up and admit that had it not been for our immigrant forbearers he or she would probably be much less fortunate than they are today.

Get real, people! We have no legitimate reasons to shun today’s immigrants who only desire to live freely in what used to be “the greatest nation on earth.”. 99.999% of them are honest, hardworking people seeking the American dream. They are not terrorists and they pose no threat to our nation. The only people they might threaten are those of us who have the inability to compete with them in our capitalist marketplace. Let them come and let them contribute to the diversity that made our nation what it used to be and it can be once again.

Default No more new frontiers.

Veteran60,

Thank you for your service. I fought in only one, but my father fought in three. I understand your frustration regarding having fought for the freedom of speech, but I’m sure you’re truly proud you did. Nirvana-Guy’s posts are difficult for me to stomach most of the time, but he has the right—and I have the right to counter him as often as I choose.

However, I have to disagree with you regarding immigration in our present-day circumstances. This is not another frontier to be settled; there are no more new frontiers anywhere on Planet Earth. It’s about survival now. The environmental impact on America—and I’m not addressing simply pollution, though it will be horrendous—will be disastrous if immigration is not slowed DRAMATICALLY.

The oft-used claim that they’re doing the jobs Americans don’t want to do is ludicrous rhetoric. There have always been, are now, and will always be jobs that people don’t WANT to do. And this is true in every nation on Earth. There are ways to get ALL jobs done by Americans if only we use our creativity and put a stop to elected officials in government at the US level directing traffic socially and economically.

I’m not only against illegal immigration, I’m against unfettered immigration altogether. I don’t want our resources stretched; I don’t want to import consumers to circulate funny money for the express purpose of eventually funneling it into the pockets of the plutocrats; I don’t want our nation for the most part to be one of servants; I don’t want our manufacturing of goods and services to be that of making hamburgers and lattes and selling them to each other; I don’t want to send far more capital out to other nations by buying their goods than we bring in by selling our own to them; I don’t want to see America—or any other nation for that matter—breed more consumers for the purpose of making a minority race a dominant race; and I don’t want America to become a harbor for those without the courage to clean up their own houses.

Yes, our ancestors fled Europe to escape oppression. But there was a new world awaiting. There is no new world awaiting now—ANYWHERE. There are only pastures that are either overgrazed or approaching that point. And humans, unlike the other critters in the animal kingdom, don’t pay any attention to such things as overgrazing—or fouling their own ground.

So . . . No more immigration, ESPECIALLY of the illegal type. That’s my wish. No more immigration for at least 5 years. Give the present population time to go to college and graduate or change jobs and settle in; give those in college time to finish and enter graduate school or become established in jobs; give those who will go to graduate school time to finish; give Americans time to become creative again after throwing off the smothering blanket of neoconservatism that has created such a travesty for America.

IF we need any immigrants, they can demonstrate what they can do for America BEFORE they can reside here permanently. It isn’t as if we Americans can run to another country to escape another form of oppression, one that is sure to emerge if this crashing of the gates continues. We’ll have to show what WE can do for THAT country.
