on topic--- illegal immigration is not the friend of AA. for the moment some strange alliances are forming at the "take back our freedom rally" SEIU hispanic honcho stood with al sharpton and shame shamed the "restore dignity rally". we are seeing the militant gays attending pro illegal immigration rallies. there is a political agenda in all of this. these groups are natural enemies.
interesting. someone i like very much on CDF was touched in a negative way by illegal immigration. my background with poor urban people would make me focus on AA crime as an issue but when people talk about such things on CDF it makes me stop and think. here is what i think, hispanics interact a lot more with wasps, bek they are working for them. so hispanic/wasp crime happens bek of the proximity. the poor AA community pretty much stay to themselves so that is where the crime happens, black on black violence, a lot!!! not much black on white. when the criminal elements in AA community come out of it and prey on the wasp community then we hear alota about it. , but until then they are invisible.

and Yes I am of hispanic descent.
My ancestors came through Ellis Island in accordance with immigration law at the time. We are no longer a nation of immigrants but a nation of Americans by several generations now. Sure we still take in immigrants but our citizens way out number any immigrants today.

No, these illegal aliens are not immigrants they are "illegal aliens". YOU can't change that!

Now, I understand your advocacy for illegal aliens. Your culture demands it. Why is it that so many Hispanics put their ethnic group above the law?

This is still a country of immigrants since most people are descended from immigrants and the original illegal aliens.

You can't change the fact that they are immigrants, besides what are you so afraid of? what did one of these people take your job?

How can they be illegal aliens when there wasn't a law denouncing them illegal aliens? Think.

Keep harping on 'country of immigrants'. It's only making you look like a fool. It's irrelevant and a strawman at that.

As a Hispanic person myself, I not really sure why that is. As the economy began to deteriorate and the chauvinism of many Latinos (like adirondackguy123 here who is puerto rican by the way) began to increase, I have come to be against illegal immigration. I have been the object of racism and prejudice, and I do believe it a good porton of it is in direct result of resentment of illegal immigration and the jingoistic and self entitled attitudes of Latinos like adirondackguy123. Personally, there seems to be an element of "sticking it to whitey" to the chauvinism. Or at least "sticking it to America". I havent a clue why since America, for all the corruption and racism it has, is still leaps and bounds above Latin America. I dont agree with the mentality and I think it's stupid and works against Latinos ultimately. It suggests a MASSIVE inferiority complex on behalf of Latinos and Im not sure if many Latinos themselves are astute enough to even pick up on it. Not to mention that Latinos are doing AWFUL when it comes to all metrics of "getting ahead" like college attendance, high school graduation rates, test scores, etc. So what does it matter if you outnumber everyone if you still dominate the poorest and least educated half of society? Mexico is a great example of a country where the white minority rules the mestizo and amerindian masses. adirondackguy123's Puerto Rico is the same. I fear that is where America is headed.

Because in the majority of cases they come from countries where "the law" is corrupt and a tool of the ruling elite/classes. This is one of the (many) reasons they often genuinely see nothing WRONG with crossing our borders or flouting OUR laws. Even in cases where they KNOW it's wrong they still just plain don't care. It's their culture to do whatever you can get away with.

Our government and elected officials and weak kneed "oh so compassionate" pro-illegal citizens (lord knows WHY they want to let their country be hijacked - but oh well) simply reinforce this attitude by doing ZIP, NADA, ZILCH to ensure they suffer the consequences of breaking our laws. That punishment it seems is reserved for Americans and those here legally.

If they happen to be racist (which quite a few appear to be by their OWN admissions/proclamations) then we must "forgive" them as they are so "downtrodden and poor".

The politicians in this country are two faced and corrupt. Not to mention that many American businesses believe that they are entitled to cheap labor, no matter what the extraneous costs.

No, that makes their ancestors immigrants, not the citizen themself. What original illegal aliens? There were no immigration laws when the first Europeans came over here. You can't be an illegal alien if there were no laws against immigration back then.

No, YOU can't change the fact that according to our immigration laws unless you have legal papers to enter our country you aren't an immigrant but an illegal alien. How much longer are you going to argue nonsense?

No illegal has taken my job. I am retired but I know of many citizens who have had their jobs stolen by an illegal alien. It isn't just about stolen jobs either. Many stats have been provided in here showing the negativity of illegal immigration and the danger of an open and porous border.

We have treaties with the descendants of those indians. They are American citizens and they have their soveriegn lands (and casinos I might add). This has nothing to do with Mexicans!
