They were so bold as to attempt to enter the USA illegally by watercraft and were arrested.

Quote:
Border agents arrested 20 illegal immigrants Tuesday morning who were attempting to enter the country by sea at Calafia State Beach in San Clemente.

When the small craft the immigrants were riding in land landed, the occupants attempted to flee. Agents with the U.S. Border Patrol arrested 17 men and three women, all from Mexico.

At least they avoided the Marines this time -

Six boats have landed at Camp Pendleton Marine Corps base, more than 50 miles north of the border, since November, including two that were abandoned. The base, only a short hike to Interstate 5, has stepped up security.

But, this CAN’T be true. According to reports, illegals are no longer trying to enter our country. Remember, they’re leaving in droves due to our sinking economy and the enforcement of our laws. We can now embrace those remaining by helping them assimilate and legalizing their status.

Yeah I hear reports that the numbers are supposed to be decreasing too, but actually if 10 leave 20 come in behind them.

I read somewhere that the claim was that illegal entry was down by 2/3 in recent months. My thought was well get back with us when 2/3rds of the number already here have left the country.

California still has the largest concentration of illegal immigrants in the nation with 2.6 million, which is about 1 million more living in the state than in 1990, according to the report.
If there's 1 million more (now) than 20 years ago(1990), how can there be a decline?
