You don't know if he had kids in the USA or not, they're only talking about the kids he claims in Guatemala. There is no way you can say that for 7 years the man didn't contribute to one single anchor baby. If he did have kids here believe me they'll be trying to sue the LAPD for some kind of compensation soon enough there'll be a lawsuit. Expect it. If not from the Baby-momma here, then from the "wife" in Guatemala who was probably receiving some kind of income by wire transfer sent regularly back to Guatemala by the now dead husband.

If news comes out I'll resurrect this thread to post about it.

Instead, Jamines raised the knife above his head and lunged at Officer Frank Hernandez, a 13-year veteran of the department, said Capt. Kris Pitcher, who heads the Los Angeles Police Department's force investigation division.

Pitcher said Jamines was an undocumented immigrant from Guatemala. He was carrying a switchblade knife with a serrated, 3-inch blade.

According to reports, the officer was justified. As the sister of a former police officer who was compelled to use deadly force, I assure you, this is a traumatic and life-changing experience for Officer Hernandez. Itís sad that this riot will only prolong his lengthy healing process.

My money is on the unnamed witness who refuses to go to the police.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Police Chief Charlie Beck was greeted by boos, whistles and chants of "justicia" by an angry Spanish-speaking crowd at a community meeting Wednesday intended to quell violence that erupted over the past two nights after police fatally shot a knife-wielding man.
A crowd of about 300 packed a school in the Westlake neighborhood where Manuel Jamines, 37, was shot to death Sunday by an officer after he allegedly lunged toward the officer with a switchblade.

Beck was jeered after defending officers by reading a witness's account of how Jamines threatened two women.

Beck said the witness, a neighborhood resident who was not named, reported to three bicycle officers that a man with blood on his hands tried to stab her and pregnant woman next to her.

Interesting that they are holding the police chief (a white guy) accountable but not the Hispanic police officer who shot the guy.

If you had a firearm, were approached by someone like this, would you use it?

I would, no problem.
