He did not specify whether he hired them directly or they showed up with contractors.
Either way, he's well aware that they're illegal and doesn't turn down their work,so he's just as guilty as any other employer that hires illegals.

Please folks, light up those Senate switchboards. The Dems are close to the votes they need to shove Amnesty down our throats! NO AMNEST! NO DREAM ACT!

Amnesty is not the answer. Giving a blanket amnesty to the estimated 12 to 20 million people who are in this country illegally will only encourage more people to come to this country illegally, hoping to cash in on the next amnesty. All that needs to be done is to make living in this country illegally an extremely uncomfortable and unprofitable experience.

The DREAM Act merely rewards parental illegal behavior. It's unfortunate that the children of people who are in this country illegally are caught in the crossfire--but there are consequences for breaking the law. If they are unhappy with said consequences, perhaps they should take that up with their law-breaking parents, rather than expecting the American taxpayer to just bend over and take yet another governmental screwing.

1. Clarify the Fourteenth Amendment. It was ratified to give citizenship to the children of slaves, not foreign nationals. No tempting birthright American citizenship, less pregnant foreign nationals of EVERY ethnicity coming into America in order to give birth to an American citizen.

2. Heavily fine and imprison all employers found to have illegal aliens in their employ.

3. No more benefits for illegal aliens. No citizenship--no WIC, no Medicare, no food stamps, no Section 8 housing, no medical care unless a life threatening emergency is in progress. No more freebies at the expense of American taxpayers--no more impetus to come to the U.S. illegally to live at the expense of hard-working citizens.

4. Legal residency must be proven before bank accounts can be opened, credit obtained, utilities turned on, and/or homes can be purchased or rented.

5. In this computer generation, it is ridiculous to believe that identity theft by Social Security number cannot be tracked. Hold accountable the thieves stealing American identities in order to work illegally in this country.

6. Secure our borders and enforce our current laws which would be perfectly workable if they were actually enforced.

Six simple steps and Voila! Deportation through attrition. Neither ICE nor the Border Patrol have to physically deport illegal aliens. They will go elsewhere of their own accord.

There you have it--the best solution for America and nobody is physically thrown out of the country in the process.

[H.R.5136 - National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2011.
In it's virgin form it was introduced by Isaac Skelton (D-MO) and co sponsored by Howard McKeon (R-CA). Both on the Committee on Armed Services. The bill it's self is meant to prescribe Pentagon spending levels and sets budget and policy for the Defense Department on a annual basis. Introducing the bill was their job
The Bill authorizes $546 Billion in Budget Authority for the Department of Defense (DOD) and the National Security Programs of the Department of Energy (DOE). The bill also authorized $159 Billion to support overseas contingency operations and $34 Billion for Fiscal Year 2010
The bill has to be addressed before the 2011 budget. Their is one every year. It sets the budget for the defense department.

However this years Defense bill it's self has provision that would repeal (DADT) don't ask don't tell. Additionally there has been a laundry list of amendments piggybacked on it including the "Dream amendment"
I Noted that Reid he was using the opportunity to address the floor to attempt to assign blame to previous administrations for today's issues.

[quote]Taken from the page provided by the OP

Reid "sought to blame Republicans for the Senate’s inability to pass comprehensive immigration legislation, noting that previous GOP supporters have abandoned the issue". “Those Republicans we had in the last Congress have left us,” Reid said, adding that it is nevertheless important to move the smaller Dream Act now"[/qoute].

With all the amendments and the DADT repeal, It is clear that the bill has been set up to fail. Reid knows that it dose not need to be addressed before the 2011 budget is due well after the November elections. The National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2011 has to be approved.
However Reid and other Democrats knows that if the bill fails in this form they can say in campaigning that the republicans voted down defense.
If it were to pass in it's current form the republican constituency would be up in arms. It's a Reid damned if you do damned if you don't set up.
People should be calling Reid and telling him not to play politics with our military.

The military has made no statement one way or the other on the "dream amendment". Service members Legal Defense Network, advocates for the end of "don't ask, don't tell, have supported the amendment Also the ACLU.

Sen. Harry Reid announced today that he wants to attach the DREAM Act — which would legalize young immigrants who want to attend college or join the military — to the defense authorization bill next week.

Your right. Somehow I ran them all together as one address. I have to write my posts on a word doc so I have a spell checker and then edit out some size commands.
My mom used to say that I was very intelligent for a stupid person and sometimes she is right
I apologize for the error
