I tried calling and emailing today but in nearly every case I heard "this voice mailbox is full". Maybe that's a good sign? Hopefully none of the emails wil be kicked back....
Meanwhile all the Dreamies are also calling/emailing "their" senators........using bogus zipcodes from a list provided on their portal..........
No lack of a sense of entitlement there is there? No wonder the mailboxes are full - they're reporting the same thing.
I know. It's only a hope. Playing by the rules sems to be a foreign concept to some, ya know? I have to believe that in the end, what is right will come to fruition. Yes, I now..now I'M a 'dreamie'.
November can't get here soon enough, nor 2012.
Well right now they're reporting being outcalled by "the antis" 10 to 1 - Let's hope so.
The funny thing is they have TWO scripts - one for R and one for D. The R script only mentions military service, the one for D mentions both military service and college components.
I don't think the majority of the Dreamies have actually READ the Act - they seem unaware of the 6 year term and/or the conditions imposed and some seem to think they'll get instant LPR status.
There's also WILDLY differing estimates of how many people would be eligible IF the DA passed, ranging from 65k up to 2 million.
It seems the 65k figure comes from the stats that say that is the number of undocumented students that graduate high schools in this country every YEAR............so the number of those likely to be eligible if the Dream Act passed would probably be closer to the 1 million figure, given that they have to have been brought in before the age of 16 and lived here continuously for 5 years since.
I wonder what the UPPER limit on age is - I've heard as high as 34 which is ridiculous.
Great job being a "benefit" to our nation. Its great that we're able to focus on the "major" issues and "logically" arrive to solutions.
