If you live in Sydney and Melbourne as well as some regional areas this is true. Where I work there are a few immigrant muslim's there and the area where I work contains many muslims and most are immigrants. In addition there are areas of Sydney that never used to have muslims a decade ago and and these days seeing them very common in that area. Most muslims have come out in the last 40 years.

Back on topic. It was not the Prime minister that stated that. It was another politician that stated that. There is no way the present government would state that as they are too politically correct.
