That's often what I think it comes down to. The truth is, people take care of their own, depending on how they define their own. Some think that every human is their own, so they take care of other humans, not excluding anyone. Some think that those who are from the same ethnic background are their own, so they do whatever to rise those people up. The desire to protect "your own" or to rise up a certain group in a country or society has benefits for them. Hispanics, illegal immigrants, Mexicans, or whatever group is apart of this debate are feeling some mixed feelings right now. On one hand, through illegal immigration and high birth rates, they have been fed this concept that they will one day be the "majority-race" in this country, so they are super excited. On the other hand, they know that many in their group are undocumented and that the rest of the country has a problem with that, so they are on the defensive, feeling that they have to protect that potential future of having population control in this country. What do they do? They do whatever they can to protect that stronghold of the future in the United States and that means protesting against the deportation of fellow Hispanics and trying to get new services, organizations and presence in our society for Hispanics.

Basically ... it's a race war and it is happening before our very eyes and I've seen few people talk about this. It happens anytime the population demographics take drastic and significant changes.
Say what? A race war? Are you equating illegal immagrants with some sort of "Race Warriors"?

Deal with the "real" problems of illegal immagration...why create boggeymen?

In Europe, also in southern America, the police can ask for your papers and if you are not legal you get deported. Period. In the USA, the police doesnt have that authority (excluding Arizona). That should be changed.
Its already Federal law on the books.

The minute the states want to enforce it. We are called racist

Simple answer they don't. I know dozens of legal hispanics and not one of them, not one support illegal immigration.

Hmm, my experience has been the exact opposite. They may claim to not support illegal immigration but they object to the enforcement of our immigration laws and call it racial profiling against Hispanics. They also support amnesty for those here illegally.

Yes. Not all, but there is enough "La Raza" attitude in politics and on the street level for the future to be full of discrimination and outcasting of non-Hispanics. I don't know about other people, but I'm sure others see the lack of trust and communication between what is mostly Mexicans and non-Mexicans or non-Hispanics. You think that once Mexicans and this term that we use "Hispanics" won't discriminate against others once the goal of majority and cultural influence is met? I don't want this to happen, that's for sure, but I'm not going to sit here and act like I don't already see it happening. And I think others are agreeing that they notice it too.

Same here, that's what I've noticed. Be it the rallies, the political commentators on television or political leaders. I will say that I've also met or heard of Hispanics who do not support illegal immigration.

Oh and I think "Race War" is a bad term to use. I don't mean literally a war, people fighting over race or anything like that. I'm saying that there is this feeling that Hispanics want to gain the role of majority in this country. Does that matter to me? No, I don't care who is a majority race, but it seems like a lot of Hispanics do. I've seen such pride on the fact that they will be the "majority population" yada, yada. Some even think that they already are because they've been fed that statistic by the news and Hispanic leaders.

That's all I'm saying.

It matters to me because if they become the majority in this country it will be through illegal immigration. There is nothing natural about that. As I have already pointed out Hispanics are already the majority in 22 countries on the Western Hemisphere. When is enough, enough? The Hispanic culture is one of an ethnocentric, tribal mentality and that means that no one else will matter but them if they become the majority and take political control. Most like socialism and are advocates of the Democratic party. Our identifying culture and langauge would change to theirs.

What is so hypocritical about it is that if millions of Asians for example were to migrate to Mexico illegally and therefore change the demographic makeup, langauge and culture of that country, Hispanics would be having a hissy fit.

"Hispanics are the majority in 22 countries"

Chicagoan, hispanic isnt a race.

"Change the demographic makeup"

Well, USA is always changing its demographics. The entire world will probably be Chinese in 150 years.

Wow...I am sorry if I offend you. But that is just pure unadultured bias and bigotry on YOUR part.

George Bush, Jr. got about 40% of the Hispanic vote in 2000 I believe. You are really putting people into categories.....

Don't get me started on how the Irish were supposed to RUIN this country with their bad morals and drinking habits.
