The majority support illegal immigration, but many Hispanics don’t. Here’s a related thread.

What is the support for Illegal Aliens from non-Hispanics???

Por la Raza! (For the race!)

That's often what I think it comes down to. The truth is, people take care of their own, depending on how they define their own. Some think that every human is their own, so they take care of other humans, not excluding anyone. Some think that those who are from the same ethnic background are their own, so they do whatever to rise those people up. The desire to protect "your own" or to rise up a certain group in a country or society has benefits for them. Hispanics, illegal immigrants, Mexicans, or whatever group is apart of this debate are feeling some mixed feelings right now. On one hand, through illegal immigration and high birth rates, they have been fed this concept that they will one day be the "majority-race" in this country, so they are super excited. On the other hand, they know that many in their group are undocumented and that the rest of the country has a problem with that, so they are on the defensive, feeling that they have to protect that potential future of having population control in this country. What do they do? They do whatever they can to protect that stronghold of the future in the United States and that means protesting against the deportation of fellow Hispanics and trying to get new services, organizations and presence in our society for Hispanics.

Basically ... it's a race war and it is happening before our very eyes and I've seen few people talk about this. It happens anytime the population demographics take drastic and significant changes.

Well stated. The fact that Hispanics are already the majority in 22 countries on the Western Hemisphere makes their intentions that much more alarming.

In California at least many Americans and Legal residents of Hispanic ancestry are 1 or 2 generations away from Illegal ancestors and many have Illegal alien relatives and friends.

My relatives cant stand talking to me about politics and immigration. I'm the only LATINO in my family that is a Conservative. Last BBQ I went to an uncle got drunk and wanted to fight me for being a stupid pocho. I told him anytime he wanted to go back to Mexico he was free to get the F out of America. Any way the old man came to his senses and we shot some tequila. A couple of my relatives don't show up when I come to family functions as the think I'm going to turn them into la migra. LOL stupid expat Mexicans. Some day some of them might finally wake up.

Legal American immigrants of Latin culture do NOT support illegal immigration into the USA. I once called the police when I spotted a illegal immigrant in MIA but the police woman asked me over the phone "if that person committed a serious crime" I replied "Well, I just know he is illegal" and the police woman said that if that person didn't commit a crime she could do nothing.

Police officers should have the authority to ask for documents, and deport illegal immigrants.

In Europe, also in southern America, the police can ask for your papers and if you are not legal you get deported. Period. In the USA, the police doesnt have that authority (excluding Arizona). That should be changed. México is basically invading the USA with no mercy. And those Mexicans belong to the lower classes of Mexico, because México is a high-middle income country comparable to Hungary, with a strong tourism industry, fortune 500 companies, an ocean of OIL, and NAFTA membership. I really cant imagine the type of mexicans that illegally cross the border. They must be the worst of the worst. An average mexican, if he/she is determined to succeed in Mexico, can be successful. Also, the mínimum wage of the USA is low when you compare it to the cost of living. If I was Mexican and wanted to relocate to a different country, I would pick Ireland or some rich Euro country with a strong safety net: mínimum wage+ walkable cities+ universal healthcare.

I think most Hispanic Americans see illegal immigrants as a economic refugee who if is sent back faces a bleak life of poverty.

I think you are right and we witnessing the beginning of the end of America. America is very divided unlike its slogan. What we have is 1 group pushing for autonomy eventually will lead to break up. You will need an authoritarian rule to keep control or please all sides. You would think Legals would be for the sovereignty of this country.
