Parents object to guide on raids, deportations - SignOnSanDiego.com

This is what we pay Teachers to do? Shouldn't people be calling the home Countries consulate instead of the school? Nice cartoon, the big mean white and black guys arresting the brown guy. This is what the kids need as part of an education?

So the California school system is now educating the illegals on how to stay illegal and in the system ?
Gotta love it..only in California. Now one can understand why they are so against AZ's law.

Isn't that teaching kids that they can break the law and get away with it ?
Nice future generation of illegals we're educating eh ?

The guides were handed out in response to evidence that students from families living illegally in the United States are having a hard time concentrating on academics, said Mary Glover, executive director of Juvenile Court & Community Schools.
I imagine the children of other miscreants also have a hard time concentrating. After all, donít they also risk separation from their unlawful parents? Shall we distribute pamphlets on how to handle a drug raid for the children of drug dealers? How about a pamphlet on how to hide stolen goods for the children of burglars? If they canít obey our laws, they and their children must suffer the consequences. Isnít that how our judicial system deals with citizens? Where are the programs to assist the children of citizen convicts or ex-cons? Who gives a damn about them? The BS coddling of illegal aliens must stop.

Part of the reasons that the schools are not in the best shape is because of illegal migrants. Teachers can't possibly enjoy attempting to communicate with parents too stupid and lazy to learn English and students who may or may not be in their classroom on a month by month basis.

I'm equally sure teachers who are taxpayers do not enjoy subsidizing the education of foreign children who are literally breaking the law. If you don't want to worry about immigration then don't break the damned immigration laws. That simple.

Exactly - where is the "advice" that parents here illegally should go HOME in order to avoid stressing out their children over deportation concerns?

Pretty sad man. The funny thing about the characters in the comic is that in many places it is Mexican Americans who have to do the arresting, but yet, they use a white person and black person as the characters. The article mentions this, the police officer interviewed brings it up himself.

I tell you, they get more desperate. How messed up is it that we are trying to reduce illegal immigration and these groups ask for all this forgiveness and help, understanding from the government, amnesty, ... but here they are getting instructions on how to be sneaky. They aren't just telling illegal immigrants their rights (I don't even know if they are protected by some of those rights), they are telling them how to evade being discovered as an undocumented immigrant. That's not right.

You know I'm doing a little research of the group that created this comic. I knew that it was a group of attorneys called "CASA de Maryland." If you do a Google search, you find all kinds of things about them. One thing I found are ties to Congress and what appears to show that they have received funding from the federal government. If this is true, it's pretty backwards (yet again) that a group is telling undocumented people how to evade detection or making it known that they are undocumented.

Committee Reports - 111th Congress (2009-2010) - Senate Report 111-229

http://www.casademaryland.org/

To be fair to them, they do have some OTHER helpful literature (the English instruction and US history help books) and seem to want to protect ALL immigrants, not just undocumented.

I hate to be a link-w***e, but uh oh ...

Taxpayer funded CASA de Maryland ventures into politics | Washington Examiner (http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/local/Taxpayer-funded-CASA-de-Maryland-ventures-into-politics-1000355-98639969.html - broken link)

They ARE funded by federal money. Tsk tsk tsk ... encouraging undocumented immigrants to run circles around law enforcement and receiving government funding to do it.

The media, particularly MSNBC, is currently focusing on our declining educational ranking in the world. Yet, no one has mentioned illegal immigration as being a factor. How can OUR children receive a quality education, when teachers are being required to devote an inordinate amount of time and resources to teaching children who do not understand English, and are illiterate in their native language?
