Alert! HR 2287 would eliminate Social Security benefits for illegal aliens!
Representative Dana Rohrabacher (R-CA) has introduced the No Social Security for Illegal Immigrants Act of 2009. HR 2287 would prohibit wages earned while working illegally in this country from being credited towards Social Security benefits.
The Social Security system was designed to provide benefits for American workers and their families. Its intent was not to benefit those who break our immigration laws and labor laws.

What if illegals are helping to keep that system solvent? Many probably won't collect the benefits.
That’s good to point out a possitive under a load of negatives .
IMO, this potential "IF", if true would be quite minute as "Kele" mentioned. To put the burden of illegal immagrants on legal immagrants and citizens of the country is wrong. If we count the possitives illegals bring vs. the negatives illegals bring then there would indeed be a gap unfavorable to legal citizens.
So if I hear the pro illegals right then I hear, "I don't care what the American citizens rights are, I only care about the rights of the illegals". So if this is the case then "pro illegal supporters" would gladly open their homes up to these people and fully support them and their families because its the right thing to do.
I'm sure CD wouldn't mind a "pro illegal" supporter opening a thread with directions to their home to house these folks.
Ummm. Illegals don't get SS benefits. However they pay into that system.

Yeah, using someone else's stolen Social Security number...under which they've likely obtained housing, transportation, and a big screen television set.
Poor wittle illegals, they give so much and get so little in return.....
It may not negatively impact the person who's id was used, because it was for legitimate work purposes and not for more traditional forms of crime.
In any case, a market friendly work visa could make this a moot point because it would solve our illegal problem on a permanent basis.
How is it not affecting the real SS# owner? They're the ones stuck with the un-declared income and unpaid taxes at the end of the year because some illegal stole their SS# and worked a year using it.
