The Obama administration announced Wednesday that in the past year it has deported a record number of unauthorized immigrants - more than 392,000, about half of whom were convicted criminals.

Officials with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement said removals during the fiscal year that ended Sept. 30 included more than 1,000 murderers, nearly 6,000 sex offenders, 45,000 drug offenders and 28,000 drunk drivers. The number fell short of the agency expectation of 400,000 deportations but still surpassed the 2009 total of 389,834, the previous record, according to the Associated Press.

From the OP link. .

Quote:
Immigrants who overstay their visas or enter the country without authorization are not considered criminals; unauthorized immigration is an administrative violation. The Obama administration has sought to distinguish such immigrants from those who have committed crimes.

As previously mentioned, they are NOT targeting all illegal aliens -- only the “criminals.” I wonder how many of those deported are already back. That would be interesting data. Even Napolitano admits our borders are a revolving door. Until they secure our borders, deportation is futile, as evidenced by the number of repeat deportations.

While I am happy illegals are being deported, I would be more impressed with this administration, if our laws were actually being enforced, and our borders were secured.

That's such a drop in the bucket, numbers wise, with so many of them here living taking full advantage of us. It doesn't make a bit of difference.

This is all apart of Napolitano, President Obama trying to make it look like they are not ignoring the law as people have been smart enough to notice and accused them of. They knew and saw that a good amount of US citizens and legal residents were pissed that illegal immigration has gotten out of control so they started this Operation Make-Them-Think-We're-Doing-Something to calm people down and to not look like they are abandoning the US people.

That's all this is. As for the stats, none of that means anything when there is legislation being proposed that allows illegal immigration to continue and to be easier. None of those stats matter when the President wants amnesty for millions of undocumented people. People want the undocumented criminals AND those who are working here illegally gone.

The worst thing that can happen from these news reports that keep coming up about this is to get complacent and actually believe that they care about doing something about this, because they don't. This is just to quell and calm down the people who are demanding answers and want to know why the President and Napolitano are so relaxed on illegal immigration.

The reason I'm cynical - what's the best thing for a rapist or murderer or other criminal who should be going to prison? Deportation of course. They don't go to prison like rapists and murderers and other violent criminals should. They get sent home and can easily obtain a whole new set of papers and identity and be right back over here the next day.

Non-illegals of course have prison facing them, but illegals who commit violent acts not only are the only illegals deported but being deported is the easiest way for them to obtain their new aliases and papers.

Across this Nation, the victims and the families, of crime committed by illegal aliens, should file suit.

Massive suits.

Class action suits against the State, Federal, and County agencies, and the Sanctuary cities and Administrations that ignore---and worse, enable, this illegal onslaught, and the cruel and unnecessary consequences endured by citizens and innocent victims.
