It is difficult to prove that an employer "knowingly" hired illegal aliens since e-verify is not mandated in most places. These illegals produce some pretty authentic looking fake documents to get hired. You are correct, this never was about immigration but about illegal immigration.
I live in Calif. and most of the illegals here are Mexicans.
To hell with that, they seem to get social security numbers from scalpers. a couple months ago I found out some one was working with my number in Utah! I used to be Neutral about this issue, but this is complete and total bull I demand JUSTICE NOW!!!!!! No one gives me stuff for free why should I continue paying outragous amounts of Taxes for it go to a bunch of Lazy fkers abusing our social services, time to wipe every single social service out of the map, maybe that will stop illegal immigrants from free loading, and get some of our lazy people looking for work again.

I was excited about hearing about this ballot initiative until the spokeshole talked about rallying the Republicans against Obama like the gay-baiting initiatives of 2004 brought out the "hater vote" for Bush. Illegal immigration affects us ALL and should not be sullied by this naked display of partisanship/agenda. I'm not excited about Obama in the way that I once was, but he is the lesser of 2 evils to me, and with the current crop of Republican haters, always will be. Too bad that the mormons and catholics don't hate the illegals the same way that they hate the gays. they could easily fund the whole thing.
Being a Californian myself, i cannot see this passing. Too many i believe won't let it. But there is still hope is there not. I cannot see the new leadership in California allowing this to happen. The Morons in the State voted the same clowns back in office, who i believe will not help the welfare of the State at all. But this is Thanksgiving, and there always is HOPE.
Still believe the Morons in Power here, will not allow this to pass.
