Colorado immigration tab decried at GOP forum - The Denver Post

The guy is correct. You have to factor in costs for family members that otherwise would not be here but for the criminal acts of their parents.

I wonder how "fair and balanced" that assesment was? No mater what your take on illegal immigration is, if you are one-sided in the numbers...how accurate can they be? If you say illegal aliens add no monies to the coffers, is that a true assesment?

No one really can calculate what the true numbers are either way, so why are these numbers of cost looked upon as FACT. Yes they may be close gusetaments; but then shouldn't the two numbers of cost and contribution be compared to give a "true" relationship of what illegal aliens cost/contribute to society?

There have been many cost comparisons. Depending on what you want to believe based on your agenda it could be plus or minus. There are other things to consider. Loss of American jobs, dilution of our culture, extra demands on our natural resources and the threat of terrorism with open borders. However, my stance on illegal immigration is and always will be the rule of law and that is one thing the pro-illegals can't present a good argument against.

I don't understand this, from the article, either they're WRONG in what they're reporting or allegedly the law regarding LEGAL immigrants carrying their greencards no longer applies........which I very much doubt is the case.

Quote:
It'll be, let's say, very similar to the Arizona 1070 law," Lambert said.
That law, which President Barack Obama's administration is fighting in court, would require Arizona police to question the immigration status of those they suspect are in the country illegally, require that immigrants carry registration papers, ban illegal immigrants from looking for work in public places and allow warrantless arrests for crimes that could result in deportation.
A federal judge has put those provisions on hold while a legal challenge is decided.
Personally I couldn't give a flying rat's patootie if it was even PROVED beyond a shadow of a doubt that illegals are a net GAIN to the USA economy. The bottom line is - they are here ILLEGALLY and our LAWS need to be enforced. period, fullstop, end of story.

When you figure cost, you must include the millions of dollars in remittances sent out of the country every year, which will never return.

The only solution is to fix our economy & make them legal. We need the workers or else they wouldn't be coming here. The entire issue is just a beacon for racists & racism... which, of course, this great nation was founded on.

The only solution to the back breaking costs of our prisons would be to what?
Stop enforcing our laws? Grant amnesty to the criminals? Same idea that you would encourage.
We need workers? 909% nation wide unemployment would indicate that we don't need illegals.
Eliminating illegal immigration = racist? How so?

It will fix our economy how? Americans need those jobs that the illegals are holding. The only ones who want these workers are the greedy employers who want the cheap labor. The rest of us don't want them here. How is having and enforcing our immigration laws, racist? What race are you talking about? This nation wasn't founded on racism. Get a grip.
