It seems the mother isn't dead - and she at least is here illegally, so yeah, the kid is an anchor baby..........

Good - but she sure doesn't sound like much of a mother. She didn't seem to be too concerned about why her little boy didn't come home every night.
This is a fact of illegal immigration - a great number of these people abandon their children to come here. The parents are so impressed with the good life here and the big easy money that comes their way, that they really don't give a damn about the children they left behind.
Yet usually when it comes to their US birth certificate children, they become very dramatic about having to leave them behind if they are deported - but they will also abandon them too if they don't bring in the welfare handouts and food stamps.
At least with this woman, it's going to be a bit more difficult for her to cry and wail and insist that she must not be deported because she needs to be here for her US birth certificate child and could never bring him home with her to Mexico.
The article said the parents split up and the father went back to Mexico taking the children concerned (the boy and his 2 sisters) with him. The mother has since remarried and had a few more anchor kids.

I thought the father was in San Diego and remarried - it was the step mother in one report who was paying for the plane tickets for these kids to get back over to the USA when the Mexican army caught up with them.
Well if the mom has more anchor children here, she can still pull that anchor baby card and insist that the family just has to be kept together and so she must be handed her US citizenship with all the government benefits. And those 2 other daughters that were taking care of the corpses likely could qualify for the Dream Act if it should pass.
If he is of Mexican ancestry through his parents regardless that he was born here he is considered a Mexican national also via dual citizenship.
Not really. "Mexican ancestry" is a broad and vague term. My brother in law is of Mexican ancestry. His family goes back five generations to when the West was still part of Mexico. He does not have Mexican citizenship. Even if his parents were born in Mexico, that does not give him automatic dual citizenship. The only way a child of a Mexican national can be considered a Mexican citizen is if the parent or the child itself requests to be one. You must submit for it, it does not become automatic and many children Mexicans don't bother with it. We have no idea if either parent of this child requested Mexican citizenship.
BTW, what does an native-born American citizen killing people in Mexico have to do with illegal immigration? We don't know for certain exactly what the status of his parents is, and nonetheless, the status of his parents doesn't change his status (for better or worse).
Capturing children and forcing them to join the cartels by doing violent acts of crime have become so common in Mexico. The cartels seek them very young because it's easier to manipulate them, theeaten them by telling them that if they don't do it, the cartels will go after their families and kill them. Many of us who have families in Mexico have heard of children being kidnapped for this reason. A village of one of my family members recounts how a party was taking place, a young man came to warm them that the Familia cartel was on it's way to kidnapp children and force them to join. The children quickily gathered and ran towards the hill for safety. When the cartel arrived, there were no children and left. The villagers are now forced to stay behind closed doors out of fear.
I don't defend this child, I am confident that whether here or there, he will get what is coming to him. However, the reality is he is a child. A child that was young enough to be programmed into believing that what he did was no big deal. He admitted to being drugged by the cartel while doing the crimes. These cartels are an embarrassement to say the least.
This is a rare case and not the norm for illegal immigrants and their children. Let's stop with the generalizations.

Fine and good. But what's done is done regarding this kid, we can't go back and reverse him being born here (if that was indeed the case). Thankfully, he was in Mexico killing people, and isn't that where you'd rather he'd been to begin with?

The typical, non-murderous anchor baby did nothing wrong (by their own volition) by being born here. Take it out on the parents (and/or the system), not what are usually innocent kids.

I wonder why the high crime crimals aren't ask, just before their final sentencing,
whether or not going to prison would affect any support for their family or the family dog.
