The majority of Americans probably don't know enough about this bill to have a truly informed opinion. I hope our nation's legislators stay true to the needs of our country rather than pandering to the needs of a single ethnic group. Particularly when the needs and desires of said ethnic group clearly goes against the national interest.

The bill is deeply flawed. It has all kinds of loopholes and should not pass.
The E in DREAM - By Heather Mac Donald - The Corner - National Review Online
To convert conditional legal status to permanent legal status, the illegal alien needs at most to have completed two years worth of college credits over ten years. He need not have earned a bachelor’s degree, nor have maintained a high GPA. He could have spent five years in remedial classes and the next five accumulating a year’s worth of credits in Chicano/a studies. But even that minimal educational standard is waivable. If the illegal alien shows “compelling circumstances” for not accumulating two years worth of credits or if removal would cause “extremely unusual hardship” to the alien or his family, he can still be granted permanent legal status.
The DREAM Act is not about creating an incentive for, or rewarding, high educational achievement. It is about trying to extend an amnesty to as many illegal aliens as possible, who will then have the ability to legalize their family members.
The purpose of our immigration laws should be quite simple: to benefit American citizens. This bill does not do that. This bill is all about making it as easy as possible for Mexican nationals and their offspring to claim American citizenship. That's unfair to legal immigrants and utterly contrary to the needs of most Americans.

It IS a lie that any of those groups you mentioned are anti"immigrant". Why do you continue on with this? Most of those groups want immigrants to come legally and in limited numbers that best suits our country's need. That is NOT being anti-immigrant by any stretch of the imagination. Show proof that Tanton is a racist!

Don't think I need to anymore. Since Galloup polled a majority of hispanics compared to other races. Any poll I put up can just as factual and more or less FAIR.

The droves of uneducated, unskilled illegals crossing the border into the USA is a tremendous financial benefit to Mexico and the other Latin American countries from which they hail. And who's stuck holding the bill?
How much are your health insurance costs going up this year to help covered the un or underinsured? How much do you think they will rise on top of that once we have more uninsured amnestied illegals? Nevermind the costs of social services they (and their sponsored families) will be eligible for? Take a long hard look at the man washing the dishes, raking the leaves, the woman cleaning the toilets. DREAmnesty means that instead of them working for citizens, citizens will be working for them.

Where does it say Gallup polled a majority of Hispanics?

This bill is insane. We're basically supposed to bend over backwards to help and support everyone who isn't here legally, but not to help those that are actual American citizens. I've known many immigrants of various nationalities whom migrated here legally. They actually bother to pay their taxes and have actually bothered to learn the language. Legal immigrants are able to contribute to society. Illegals shouldn't be exempt from the same laws that everyone else follows although apparently bleeding hearts think that illegals are above the law. Also, here's how Mexico deals with illegals:
John W. Slagle -- Mexico's Immigration Laws and Illegal Aliens
Interesting that Mexico deports and imprisons illegals, but we aren't supposed to do the same.

And this is exactly how our elected reps like to keep us, in the dark. They will give us a few highlights, sugar coat it and say yeah its a sacrifice but....
Or they try to guilt us into feeling bad if we don't go along.

They have been cleverly and deceitfully convinced that this bill is a humanitarian measure to legalize the status of “children” who are being unjustly persecuted for the sins of their parents. The operative word being -- CHILDREN. Who, other than the heartless, feel no compassion for innocent, defenseless children?
However, the truth is, the DREAM Act is NOT a bill to legalize “children.” It is a bill designed to legalize illegal alien adults under the guise of benefiting innocent children who were brought to this country by their parents. Actually, the ONLY aspect of the bill that even pertains to children is the requirement that an illegal alien must have entered this country prior to the age of 16, and must be at least 12-years-old to receive a stay of deportation.
Even the title -- Development, Relief, and Education for Alien MINORS Act, is pure subterfuge. Given that an illegal is ONLY eligible to apply for the DREAM Act upon completion of high school, how can it be a bill for minors?
I can only speak for myself, but I remained a “minor” for only three months after my high school graduation, and the majority of my classmates were already 18 prior to graduating. Of course a bill to legalize illegal alien adults would never be embraced by the majority, because the majority of citizens oppose amnesty, which is precisely what the DREAM Act entails. In fact, it is Phase 1 of another mass amnesty; and according to sponsors, is a “down payment” on CIR.
If this bill passes, imagine the outrage once misinformed supporters realize they have been duped. I assure you, it will not bode well for DREAMies or the unethical politicians who sponsored or supported this amnesty nightmare.
