That article is comparing that to a study done by the anti-immigrant and obviously biased group FAIR. Point me to a study of the cost done by someone without a bone in this fight and i might believe what the article is saying.

Quote:
In July 2010, the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) released the results of a study which examined the costs of illegal immigration at the federal, state and local levels. The study found that U.S. state and local governments shell out $84.2 billion annually in various services (law enforcement, schools, social services, etc.), with California taxpayers alone, spending $21 billion on illegal aliens every year

Of course they are. They are anti-illegal immigrant therefore they are anti-immigration. Isn't that the prevailing logic by the pro side?

Regardless, their study is obviously biased. Would you accept a study done by the national council of laraza to be legitimate?

Illegal immigration is costing us BILLIONS annually. Common sense dictates it will cost less to deport, than to carry such a fiscal burden on an annual basis. We are already broke. We can’t afford to continue to support untold millions of illegal aliens and their ever-increasing brood.

How was it biased? You made a charge now support it. Knight you know that I will acknowledge it when you do. I have in the past.
No I would not accept a claim made by LARAZ and for obvious reasons.

Lets not forget what we have seen happen when communities have cracked down on illegals. Self deportation is the result. They move to a place that is not bringing the heat. If done nation wide they will have no choice. Some will try to evade but as they are rounded up many more will flee accross the border.
