That is the actual settlement and the interesting thing is that it wasn't the U.S. government that was sued. They sued the prison that is contracted by ICE. So, my question is: what does ICE have to do with the way this privately owned prison is running things? ICE shouldn't even be mentioned in this.
Now, illegals with medical problems will only need to locate the nearest ICE office. It’s a damn shame they receive better treatment than citizens. Of course, the costs have yet to be determined.
Oh wow... Was this done because of some U.N. mandate? I don't remember voting for this? Did our congress vote for this?
In the pdf document that was posted I found this:
Quote:
This Agreement does not cover the provision of medical care at any facility other than SDCF and
shall not be interpreted otherwise. This Agreement does not cover occurrences or incidents that
happen to Class Members while they do not reside at SDCF.
So they're entitled to medical care while they're in custody. Are they billing back their nations of origin for the treatment they recieve? Why the hell should the American taxpayer have to pay for their care?
I don't believe that's anything new. As long as they are in ICE custody they receive medical care. It's been that way. A relative of mines works as a detention officer in those facilities. His main job is transporting them to and from the detention facilities and the hospital. He told me that they spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on one inmate because he had a brain tumor.
They could describe it however they choose, it is still CRAP. Freaking losers, should get off of their high horses, and both parties, do something about thsi illegal crap, has to stop, or things will be out of control no matter where you live.

Even I'm insured, but I still can't afford medical premiums of any kind. I cancelled my last appointment and was still charged $218.00 for stepping into the office.

The suit was filed by the ACLU in 2007.
