I hope more states go in this direction. Its a big step in stopping illegals from coming here.

instead of proposing a change to the Constitution, which has established birthright citizenship under the 14th Amendment, the lawmakers are expected to advocate a state-by-state approach to blocking issuance of state birth certificates to whom they claim are unqualified children.

Metcalfe said he's alarmed by the burgeoning size and cost of America's illegal immigrant population, estimated at 11 million, and whose offspring in the United States would be able to sponsor their parents and relatives for legal residency. The children are sometimes referred to as "anchor babies."

I have said this all along that changing the rules for birthright citizenship is the single most important piece of legislation we could pass to curb illegal immigration immensely and to retain our identifying demographics, culture and language.

Your absoulutely right, however past and present administrations, seem to have given very little time of this very expensive and negative problem, facing this issue.

You did say common sense did you not, Past administrations and present, are anything but common sense on this here issue, and something has got to give and fast, or this problem will be out of control for years to come, if we don't get a hold of this now.

How right you are, this is such a major slap in the face to Men and Women who fight to keep this a Nation of our Laws, which our Power Packed administrations past and present, have skipped over.

I don't think the 14th Amendment is birthright citizenship. It's very clear what the original intention was of the 14th Amendment.

Nobody enforces the laws in this country they're too busy reinterpreting them, bending them, or breaking them alltogether.
