During all of the furor over Arizona’s SB1070 immigration enforcement law last spring, one of the most egregious attacks on the sovereignty of the border state came in the form of a highly inappropriate and insulting speech by Mexican President Calderó n before the U.S. Congress.
We all remember this.

Quote:
As the Democrat dominated chamber applauded the attack on Arizona, our hapless commander in chief and his constitutionally challenged attorney general were threatening legal action despite having not taken the time to have read the 10 page bill.
How could we forget?

Quote:
Fast forward nine months later
Quote:
President Calderó n is instituting a high-tech new I.D. system which will be in place by 2013. The new cards which will include an iris scan, fingerprints, photo and signature are said to be 99% reliable.
Quote:
The new system will be implemented gradually beginning with children over the next two years and then the adult population by 2013. The system will help the Mexican authorities to keep track of their citizens and should help Mexico to secure its borders against illegal immigration
.

They get to enforce their system and illegal immigration, but he wants them invade and criticize us.

Oh the pro-criminal side will be howling about this one. How will the poor people of Countries to the South be able to circumvent this harsh tactic? Oh no, it's like a death sentence. How will they be able to create a fake id, work under the table and wire money home?

Oh the irony!!

This is actually good news for us. Not all illegals are Mexican. Over the past 20 yrs, a large number of Central Americans have come here illegally. This will make it harder for them to use Mexico as a gateway to the U.S.

Does this mean the US should now not accept the laughable Mexican Matricula Consular as valid ID?

The Mexican govt will go about issuing ID to adults and children within the country. Those who have illegally entered the US will not be present to obtain their ID. Anchor babies will not have ben present for scanning, so they won't be considered citizens. Then what happens? Does the Mexican govt claim that those who have illegally entered the US where never Mexican to begin with?
I see one giant grey area with which Mexico is going to try to force the US to grant amnesty.

How many of us know of a Mexican of European ancestry who has illegally crossed the border? Most of the Latin American illegals we see are the indigenous, darker (brown) complexioned people. Mexico has race issues with these brown Mexicans -- if they can be rid of them -- so be it.

It turns out that racism in Mexico, both against blacks and dark-skinned indigenous Indians, has a long history. Mexico's colonial past has left its mark on modern-day society. Prejudice toward "pureblood" Indians from those who are "mixed-blood" (Spanish and Indian) is rife. Almost uniformly, people who are darker-skinned and of Indian descent make up the peasantry and working classes, while lighter-skinned, Spanish-descent Mexicans are in the ruling elite. Fox himself comes from that background, as his appearance makes evident. This inequality may explain in part why the majority of immigrants coming into the United States fall into the darker-skinned category. Beyond the failure of the Mexican government to sustain a decent economy, darker-skinned Mexicans have a difficult time getting work because of job discrimination.

The move will be introduced gradually, with some 28 million minors taking part in a first two-year stage, due to cost $25 million (£15.6 million).
The cost of $25,000,000

@ $25.00 each

comes to
$700,000,000

-$25,000,000
-------------------------
leaves a profit of,
$675,000.000

Here's an idea - once Mexico rolls this out, how about any Mexican caught in the USA without a valid US issued visa OR the new Mexican national ID card gets summarily deported, no questions asked, no hearings, no appeals.
