There will always be illegal immigration because many Americans put their wallets before their country. Pure and simple.

As long as the murders, rapes, kidnappings, ID theft, and credit fraud is happening to everyone EXCEPT our elected local/state/federal officials, their family members, and close friends -- illegal Entry into the U.S.A. is officially NOT A PROBLEM.

As long as the R's stay in power, then yes. We have numerous programs in place that would cut down the illegals dramatically. But the R's say one thing and do something else. We have H2A visas, but Bush removed all the teeth of it. We have NAFTA, which would have created jobs in Mexico a decade ago and raised their standard of living. Instead it got pocketed by Mexican officials and large American companies who instead of building factories there, outsourced their purchases to China & Taiwan.

If we actually want to stop illegals then H2A needs to be fixed and the fines related to start out at $35k per illegal found and not $1000/$5000 per incident. There is already computer systems in place to verify status. Require all employers to use them.

NAFTA in Mexico is basically dead. We've/they've killed it in both directions. Nearly everything is a payoff.

The majority of Americans however do not fit this scenario.

Most of your post is spot on. However, I don’t believe the blame lies solely with the Republicans. Both parties are in bed with big business, and both parties have done nothing to curb illegal immigration. Of course, we have the occasional obligatory raids and deportations for the sake of appearance. But, REAL enforcement is sorely lacking, and has been for years. Otherwise, we wouldn’t be in this mess.

True not solely, but looking at immigration over the past 30 years a majority of the time its been R's who talk about it for face value than remove the resources that make the programs work.

So when illegal immigration is no longer a problem...will murders, rapes, kidnappings, ID theft, and credit fraud [crime] be an issue for you?

Seems you're more upset that illegals are commiting these crimes more than you are that these crimes are being committed.

explain what your next step is in ridding the US of all these crimes once illegals are gone?

Well, if they were't here they would be commiting their crimes somewhere else. Our crime rate goes down. More money would be available to stop citizens that commit crimes. And maybe we wouldn't have to let criminals out due to the overpopulation of our prison system.

Of course crimes committed by citizens are of a concern to us but the point is that if these illegals weren't here that would be that much less crime that our LE and court systems would have to deal with and fewer lives destroyed or lost.

No one is suggesting that if the illegals were no longer here that we would be able to eliminate crimes committed by citizens.

Actually no. Our crime rate goes up. Illegals commit crimes but at a lower rate than many native groups. If you remove them crime totals may go down but crime rates will certainly go up....

And per crime there will be less money available.
