FBI statistics showing that violent crime rates in Southwest border counties are down 30% over the last two decades and are "among the lowest in the nation."
I find it interesting that people are dismissing an FBI statistic because it does not favor their own beliefs. This should not stop people from protecting the border, from wanting a fence or the right technology to detect trespassers. However, one should be honest with the situation. Southwest border's crime is among the lowest in the entire nation.

I find it interesting that so many truly want to believe a government and a government agency known for manipulating percentages to their favor while dismissing eyewitness accounts and local stats to support their own beliefs.

I hear the hysteria about the border, especially from those in the Phoenix area and scratch my head. I can see the border from my house and rarely see an illegal. If there were as many as there are Border Patrol, I would be shocked. I don't even see them at the car wash because Border Patrol brings their vehicles there. The Demonization of illegals is the crowning glory of the fright media.
I do however, blame Butch Napolitano for abandoning Arizona and leaving Frau Brewer in charge

Local stats for border communities from San Diego to Brownsville show crime rates lower than the national average.

Just because you don't see them in your area doesn't mean that they aren't coming in droves elsewhere. They obviously are by the estimated number of illegal aliens in this country. What do you mean by the demonization of illegals? Demonizing lawbreakers is unacceptable?

I note your reference to Brewer as a Nazi. So for her to push for the enforcement of our immigration laws equates to Nazism?

Pretty funny since every time I've been to Douglas, I see several BP units detaining large groups of illegals.
