They're use to that kind of smell. Just imagine 10 of them living in one small
house and living on bean burritos and chili.

Not at all. I think this is more informative that anything else. Cremation is not popular in the Mexican culture. My point is that if an illegal immigrant does not have an ID from the consulate or from Mexico, the body stays here because no one can claim the body. Then it does become our responsibility as taxpayers. This is why it is so important for the Consulate to issue IDs to illegal immigrants.

Actually, there are a lot of restrictions as to who and where the body can be recovered. The person transporting may get in trouble with the law and end up in jail. Aduanas does check vehicles.

Illegals should still have their IFE cards which is what Mexico accepts as identification. If they don't have an IFE card, it's likely they're not from Mexico.

Mexico charges families $7,000 per dead body returned from the US. Many families go into debt and have to sell assets to pay the fee. In the city of Ecatepec 46 dead migrants were repatriated in three years. It is unclear in the article if this fee is mandatory or only if the family wishes to claim the body.
ANY Government that would charge it's citizens an exhorbitant fee like this at a time when a grieving familyis at it's weakest point is truly disgusting.

Illegal and/or legal issue aside, charging 7 Grand to profit of anothers misery is wrong considering that Mexico's Federally funded Grupo Beta encourages and assists Illegal Aliens and that Mexico reaps the benefits of it's remittances from it's citizens in the US.

Considering how corrupt Mexico is though it's to be expected.

That maybe how it's SUPPOSED to work but in reality a bribe here and a bribe there will take care of any issues.

Most illegal immigrants cross the border with no ID. That means that when they get here they request one from the consulate. Not having one does not say anything about their nationality.

Bribes don't work with the military or the Feds. You can bribe the local transit or police but trying to bribe the two above, which guard Aduanas, will get you in big time trouble. Its not worth trying to bring in a dead person in a coffin. Who knows? You may end up being accused of murder.

That's really hard to believe when the Drug Cartels have Mexican military uniforms, guns and even Mexican soldiers working for them.

Maybe an average person wouldn't have the means to bribe the Military but others do.

That I can agree with. Ordinary citizens that have no power cannot by any means bribe them. As I said, it makes no sense to take a dead body over the border and get in trouble with the law.
