We can't fight a cartel firing beanbags when they shoot bullets.

Records show agents fired beanbags in fatal border gunfight

If the US were serious about Border Security it would employ Landmines. Just run a campaign of PSA's in Mexico and the US for a few months and then set landmines and barbed wire fo a "No Man's Land".

Actually it would be the most cost effective and safe method for large areas that are unmanned.
if you're that ignorant to ignore warnings ( in several languages) and pictures of a mindfield that's your own fault.

Bean bags? Really?

The coyotes and drug runners dont play nice. Time to match 'em up with gun toting US Border Patrol, etc. Off a few gun using illegals and many wont try to cross anymore.

The Drug smugglers are carrying Military issue guns and we arm the Border Patrol with bean bag guns???

Bean Bags are suitable for crowd control at riots and unruly protesters, not Heavily armed drug runners and other criminals that are armed.

I would hate to go up against someone shooting actual bullets when you're shooting bean bags.

I don't know why Obama had a meeting with Calderon, he's trying to put off the reason for border jumpers and violence on the cartels smuggling drugs.

He thinks if the USA didn't have such an appetite for drugs then there wouldn't be violence on the border.

If drug smugglers have fire arms, it is because an American/s are providing them. Not because they are from the military. Its no secret. An agent just confessed that he received directive from his supervisors to allow hundreds of fire arms to cross into Mexico.

If thats the case then those Americans should be held accountable and the US needs to BETTER arm our agents to be able to match and exceed enemy fire power.

Then why is the Rebublican led Congress trying to cut funds?

Quote:
Congress is looking to cut funding to border patrols.

Under President George Bush, House Republicans pushed for more money to secure the southern and northern borders to keep out illegal immigrants, guns and drugs.

The House voted to cut $600 million from patrols this year – the same money it approved last August.

Should these Americans also be "held accountable"?

If the U.S. was really serious about Border Security
we'd make Mexico accountable for the billions that
we've already given them to address this and the
more dollars Obama promised to keep sending

Calderón has nothing to loose as long as his illegal sympathizer buddy Obama keeps sending the cash
without any questions.
