" Unfortunately, the Secretary is a professional politician and was prepared to provide only the answers she wanted the public to hear, notable success stories rather than areas of difficulty."

Ya think?

We have a wide open border with a country that thousands are claiming to flee because it's filled with violent savages they say. They can't head to other cities in Mexico that have very low homicide rates --- WHY?

These asylum seekers are a big joke. That's the new easy quick way around immigration laws and it sure beats coming illegally because the welfare handouts are instant and even better, no wait, no need for the birth of a baby.

History repeats itself.
Russian Jews used to say the same thing when the progroms started, and their cries were met with derision by the America public.
Poles said the same....Armenians....

Why do you keep saying we have a wide open border? where on earth do get that from?

It may be true that large areas of the US-Mexican border are un-maned[BP], remote, and desolate;but that does not make the Southren border "wide-open".

It is wide open. Sure there are legal border entry ports where there are customs agents and a few trucks and cars are inspected.

Otherwise it is wide open. There is a little fence in some areas that people either climb over, crawl under, or go around.

Illegals come and go as they please, tons of drugs and other contraband easily pass over the border daily.

Cartels control the smuggling routes, the good spots to get over easily are controlled by them - and yes they do control all that but they have no trouble getting whatever it is they want to get here over the border quickly and efficiently.

But the legal ports of entry are also a big joke as it's very easy for anyone to obtain a laser visa, they sell them on the sidewalks, but if you can't find one there, the cartel groups have thousands of them. They rent them out for only $500 and help select one that resembles the soon-to-be illegal. They take them back from you once you've made it over so they can be reused many times.

It's also not much trouble at all to get a perfectly legal visitor pass, say you'll be coming to shop for a day or two and then simply stay forever. All kinds of people have nothing more than a shopping pass that gave them a 72 hour stay - years ago.

In fact one of my former neighbors is waiting in Juarez right now for someone to lend him $500 to get one of these visas. He was deported for selling dope - and he's working in a maquila over there but with his drinking and pot habits, his only problem is getting the money together and since he doesn't pay money back, his friends, even is his girlfriend living here won't lend him the money. Once he gets the $500 however - no problemo. Just like others he'll be back over here. It's that easy.

That's true because I'm sure all but the very naive realize the cartels control the border, almost all of it.

That's what's causing them to fight over it - it's because one cartel or another controls the border and control over the border is what has them fighting over the billions of dollars of easy profit from it.

If our government controlled the border, there would be no cartel wars going on. There would be no billions of dollars in trafficking to fight over.

It's not just drugs, it's stolen vehicles, the used car part business, extortion, human smuggling and trafficking, even pirated cd's that brings in money that's so big they all believe it's worth dying for, watching their kids die for.
