No truer words. We are being played by both parties. Sadly, the sheeple have been so thoroughly indoctrinated to adhere to party loyalty, they don’t even realize they are mere puppets on a string. In reality, there is no difference between the Democrat and Republican politicians, because neither side has our best interest at heart. Most are greedy narcissists, motivated by their insatiable thirst for power. Yet, their blind followers continue to rip each other apart like wild animals, because no matter what, they MUST defend “their side.”
Unless people wake up and see politicians for the crooks they are, our country is doomed. In my entire life, I have never witnessed such vitriolic partisan bickering as now. The puppeteers must be proud.
If you go to opensecrets.org and you can find the party donor list for all elections since 1989-2010, you can see ALL those too-big-to-fail banks on that list have donated to BOTH parties
Well this is in direct violation of federal law, more so than AZ's law. My guess is someone will launch a lawsuit to challenge and it will be thrown out.
I was reading more about this and even the illegals are against it. This is an example of the complete breakdown in leadership facing this country on this and other issues. One one hand the bill grants illegals the right to work on another it steps up enforcement.
Utah needs to make up its mine does it want to be a sanctuary state or not.
Someone want to tell me how Utah legislators became so caring of illegal immigrants? This is obviously all about using illegal immigrants as a vulnerable form of labor. I used to know a little about Utah, but I have a question: what industries are big in Utah? What are these workers supposed to be doing? Why did Utah become so supportive of illegal immigrants. Utah has always been seen as a go-to place for illegal immigration. What is it there that illegal immigrants are used for?

The bill allows illegal immigrants in the state prior to May 11, 2011 to be eligible for the guest worker permit, which Rep. Dave Clark, R-Santa Clara, not just opens he door to illegal immigrants but opens the barn door.
"We're giving two months of all-y, all-y in come free," Herrod said.
This is hilarious. It's all connected. You're gonna have people getting word of this in Mexico and all others countries and they are going to do whatever they can to make it up to Utah. Everything is multiplied. This is irresponsible and affects the WHOLE country. How is it that a state can do something like this that ends up affecting us all? How many of those workers will receive federal assistance? Their families? How many children will they have while they are here? Then they will later move to other states?
Why can't we SUE these states for things like this?
It's obvious that UTAH business owners and what not asked and paid politicians to vote in this way.

So how come Obama isn't slamming Utah for making it's own immigration laws that replace federal laws? He slammed Arizona when it made it's own laws that were just like federal laws, but suddenly it's okay for states to make their own laws as long as they are about bringing more illegals in to aid and harbor them.
Let’s see if Obama and Holder ignore this. After all, the employment of illegal aliens is a violation of Federal Law. Furthermore, they still need a SSN to work. Or, perhaps they intend to violate that law also.
This bill was passed by an overwhelmingly controlled REPUBLICAN legislature..
Despite a lot of talk, the GOP is no more serious about getting rid of illegals than the Democrats are...after all, they don't want to lose their cheap labor.

I totally agree. Both sides have sold us down the river.

Actually, it was passed 41 - 32, w/2 no votes.
But to address your statement ... there were 27 R voting NO and only 5 D
There are 75 seats total, w/17 as Dem

Any indication the Gov. will sign it?
Actually the Utah law attempts to work in concert with the Federal Guest Worker Program...not to circumvent it. The Utal law attempts to have the Utah Worforce Services establish a guest-worker program but follows the federal program's rules. The law calls for federal waivers so that the program can be implimented; and state that federal Guest-worker rules will be followed.
This law, could be argued, is in line with the federal 287(g) program...in which the federal government give local LEAs the option to participate and become deputized immigration enforcement agents; with all the enforcemt powers of federal immigration agents to enforce federal immigration laws.
Arizona's SB1070 works to make Arizona Law enforcement officers state immigrations officers, enforcing state immigration laws.
Whether the federal government allows waivers so that Utah to implement a state guest-worker program[following US Guest-Woker Program rules] is still to be seen.
