I see threads people scared of that and these, seeing people starting to look different of people just because they might "LOOK" they are from the middle east, asia europe whatever...

Do you people understand and realized that is what the terrorists wants us to feel? To feel unsafe! to creat hysteria and to create the fear among the people. Also to create mistrust among the people of different religions or color of the skin. They might as well win the war already. We can fight back but not with Heavy weaponary, guided missles and such. We can show them that we have no fear! We can show them what 's America made of!

Your point is well taken, and points up the extreme difficulty of fighting a "cultural" war. We are in for some tough going, and that's for sure. How do you run a society of 300 million people, of varying "colors", religions, lifestyles, etc. and at the same time espouse a sort of wide-open, free-form "no rules" multiculturalism? There are only two POSSIBLE ways to hold such a huge nation together, unpleasant as each may sound- and they are:
(1) Impose a draconian sort of a "Big Brother" all-seeing all-powerful government entity, complete with video surveillance, loss of liberties, and an ever-tightening net of restrictions so we can't possibly HURT each other, even if we WANT to; OR
(2) Somehow we're going to have to unite in a common culture that REQUIRES us to "live and let live", and a common language, and a common definition of "decency", ethics, and morality, so that we, OF OUR OWN VOLITION, end up "leaving each other alone" to live in peace.

SO FAR, we do not seem to be interested in EITHER of the above options. There's little wonder, then, that 300 million diverse multicultural people, some of whom are quite incompatible with others, are having a very difficult time getting along. It looks like more of the same is on the way, unless changes are made.

Well, I don't think the terrorists are making Americans feel unsafe. If anything it's our own government crying wolf and raising the terrorist level needlessly over and over again.

Besides over 80% of the American troops that have died have been victims of roadside bombs. How do you win a war when you can't shoot the enemy?
