You have to love the spin..........

Quote:
Illegal and undocumented immigrants in Maryland could soon receive the same tuition breaks at many state colleges to which any citizen of the state is entitled.

Illegal AND undocumented now..............isn't that like the same thing?

and when do they come to grips with the FACT that these "educated illegals" are not legally allowed to work in this freaking country??????

Quote:
Offering education benefits to the undocumented students will get them higher-paying jobs and contribute to the state’s tax base, Ramirez said.
They're not legally entitled to work ANY jobs in this country..... who elects these idiots? (Besides, I thought they were only here to "do the jobs Americans won't"? )

If you don't know that illegals aren't permitted to work in this country, what are you doing in office?
And if you do know, you should be thrown out of office.

Any elected officials supporting this are not educated enough to hold office.

MD SB 167 would allow Maryland resident illegal aliens to pay the in-state tuition rate... not give tuition.

Whether they are allowed to work in the US or Maryland is not the issue. A person reasons for wanting a higher education is their business. To equate an education solely with employment is ridiculous.

Only South Carolina bans illegal aliens from attending state public Colleges and Universities...but does not[or can not] ban IAs from attending private institutions.

These are exactly the same types of empty excuses that all ethnocentric illegal alien sympathizers constantly parrot.

Its ridiculous to even allow illegals to live here. And giving 'em instate tuition rates makes me mad.

Of course I can only speak for myself, but I didn’t spend 7 years and hundreds of thousands of dollars attending undergrad/grad school just for the heck of passing time. Why on earth do you think people attend college, if not to land a good-paying job?

The issue isn’t their eligibility to “attend” college. At issue is tax-funded, in-state tuition. Why should people who are in this country illegally receive tuition reductions, tax-funded or otherwise, while out-of-state CITIZENS are required to pay higher rates, and LEGAL foreign students are not afforded the same perks?

again which bill are you refering to? Please cite the Maryland bill and passage which proposes tax funded tuition?

MD SB167...
Quote:

Higher Education –Tuition Charges – Maryland High School Students

FOR the purpose of establishing that certain individuals, other than certain nonresident individuals, shall be exempt from paying the nonresident tuition rate at certain public institutions of higher education under certain circumstances;
http://mlis.state.md.us/2011rs/bills/sb/sb0167f.pdf

Which means they would still pay the resident in-state tuition rate...

Obviously, you don’t realize in-state tuition is TAX-FUNDED. In other words, if this bill passes, illegal aliens will have their tuition subsidized by Maryland taxpayers.

I do understand that in-state tuition can be funded by taxpayers, but that is not what MD SB 167 proposes.

Illegal alien students are paying the more costly non-resident tuition rate vs. paying the less expensive resident tuition rate. MD SB167 proposes students pay the less expensive resident tuition rate.

Quote:
Annual tuition and mandatory fees at the University of Maryland are $8,416 for state residents and $24,831 for non-residents, according to the school’s website.

I find no Maryland bill or SB167 to say that Maryland taxpayers will fund the resident tuition rate for illegal alien students.

could you please cite the bill that does?
