New Haven CT has told police that they cannot ask about someones staus in the US even if stopped fro a crime.Isnt it illegal on some level? Cant someone fight this as they are becoming more and more public about not enforcing our laws at whatever level they choose.

It was always my understanding that any law enforcement can ask me my immigration status (im legal). I cannot remember, but its illegal for me to refuse to tell them and not show the my card, resulting in deportation.

But as we know, its a different set of rules if you break the law :|
