How about "person who is here illegally"? We talk about "person first" language in the world of disability, why not extend it to people who do things illegally? "Person who commits crimes" instead of criminal .

Anyway, all kidding aside I see your point, and it's valid. It's not just employers though. People from other countries can come here and get free health care, free education, and other entitlements. That is not okay. There needs to be no incentive to come here illegally.

I am completely against illegal immigration.

Amusing thing is 'Hispanics/Chicanos/Xicanas/etc' are all Caucasians, as in 'just like gringos.'

How do ou feel? Please feel free to share your stories. P.S. Do you have any other ways to explain to people about our culture etc.?
I no longer live in NM and I am not Mexican or Spanish, but my granddaughers husbands family are still in NM and they too feel like you do. It is too bad when people think they can lump everyone together, but remember, there are many in our country who don't realize NM isn't part of Mexico.

No, but it is your fault that the comments of some random group of strangers bothered you so much that you'd join a chat forum to complain about their ignorant comments.

I have found that "some" pro-illegals take random incidents of racism by white Americans and spin it as though that is the sentiments of the entire anti-illegal movement. I have seen it happen over and over.

Doesn't the old saying still work, "We didn't cross the border, the border crossed us, honey!" (with a couple finger snaps)?
Nope. That dont mean a thing today. Most Mexicans IN Mexico; they had NO family here in the USA before 1848 so the border didn't cross them.

And looking at Mexico: Im glad the USA took part of there country cause Cali, Arizona, etc. are nicer, much nicer.

I had a run in with a girl from South America; she IDed herself as a Latina but was a blue eye blonde. She lookd like she was German or something, def did NOT look like a normal Chicana. But she had the attitude that makes all of us American Chicanos look stupid in the eyes of anglos.

Well, Latinos/Hispanics can be of any race - they can have European, African, Asian and Indigenous ancestry, or a mix of everything.

Countries like Argentina, Chile and Urugray are largely Caucasian in population, it's possible you could have met one of them.
