Twenty thousand criminal aliens will be deported from the United States by the terms of a bill approved by the Senate Immigration Committee today [March 28]. The bill is the result of a nation-wide campaign for legislation to clear the country of undesirable aliens to help solve the unemployment problem. However, it authorizes the creation of an inter-departmental committee with the power to exempt “worthy aliens” from deportation, even if they are found to have entered the country illegally.
Whether it is seen as racist or not, is not the issue. It had little effect 75 years ago durring a world-wide economic depression to alleviate unemployment in the US...as it would have little effect today to alleviate unemployment in durring our current economic recession.
For those that argue that illegals take jobs away from Ameicans...
[first let me state, I do know that it is illegal for undocument aliens to be hired or work in th US]
...That would be the case if there were no jobs in the US to be had. If anyone contacts their State Employment commission, or even open their local newspaper's classifieds, there are lots of jobs for the taking. State Employment Sites: State and Local Government on the Net
Deport illegal aliens...but to use the argument that it will help with unemployment is bogus. People accepting jobs and going to work alleviates unemployment. since there are plenty of jobs in the US, there has to be other reasons for our current UR.
Since the 1980's the US unemployment rate has moved up and down from low averages in the mid 3% to highs in the mid 10%. There is no credible indication that incresased deportations effected unemployment rates durring that period...or any period.
Currently the UR is at 9.8% which translates to about 9.8 million Americans out of work. Do we need to deport 9 million undocumented workers to see a decrease in US UR?

For you with simple minds... that will undoubtedly state that deportation for any reason is what is needed, please stay on the topic of the post/thread...Deportation and US unemployment rates.

In my “simple mind,” this is unadulterated malarkey. Furthermore, few are advocating mass deportation. As you well know, we want our laws enforced and our borders secured, which would resolve much of this issue.
Even YOU do not believe your post. We have only 9.8 million unemployed/underemployed citizens? Illegal aliens are not displacing legal workers?
This nonsense has been debunked so many times it’s ridiculous. But continue to follow your script.

Displacing a worker means just that. Moving one worker out for another.
If a undocumented worker holds a position, and a documented worker needs a position, then how can it by displacement if other jobs are avialible to either worker?
The theory of "fewer undocumented worker" produces "lower unemployment rates" could be plausible if there was "Full employment" in the US, with very few positions availible, and by removing UD workers, that would open employment for others; then the rate would go down in conjuction with those removals.
Since there is not "full employment", and other jobs are availible now, then by simply removing the UD worker doesnt fill the existing unfilled positions or the newly created positions.
Im sure some will propose that even one displaced UD worker alleviates unemployment...that may be true; but to further that idea to contend that more deportations equals lower unemployemnt rates[ National averages] has not been shown accurate.
