Smugglers of illegals and their illicit drugs are now shifting their focus to the Pacific, and they are hitting land at points farther and farther north than before (San Clemente, San Onofre, San Diego are heavily patrolled). According to one of the linked articles, the smugglers are charging $6000 per illegal to bring their ''poor, starving' butts here. How can a 'shoeless peasant' scrape together $6000 just to have a coyote smuggle them here?

Last year, 867 illegal immigrants and smugglers were arrested at sea or along the California coast, more than double the number in 2009. Border authorities have had to redeploy agents from the land border to the coast, where they scan the ocean with night-vision goggles and give chase across dunes instead of fields.
Wonder what the folks with beachfront property will have to say when loads of illegals start swimming ashore and fleeing through their multi-million dollar homes.

That would be sweet karma as it appears that many of these rich elite are bleeding heart liberals. Bet that would change their tune.
