But the cities with sanctuary policies are doing the best, and have good economies. They also have lower unemployment.

Can you explain that?

El Paso is a sanctuary city and has very few jobs, high unemployment, an extremely high rate of Medicaid and food stamp use.

California is a sanctuary state and it's budget mess is horrendous. Unemployment in some counties is near 25%.

You're kidding me, right? I live in NYC, and 2 million out of the 8 MM living here are illegals. NYC's REAL unemployment rate is around 18-20%, and there is almost no middle class left.

In about 15 years the entire NYC budget will be consumed with pension and health costs for public union workers, who man the schools and hospitals being overwhelmed with demands for services by illegals.

A large portion of the NYC public school system is the children of illegal aliens/anchors, which is consuming vast amounts of resources that should have been spent on the native-born citizenry. From an earlier post I made:

"They don't pay income taxes, and the employers don't pay wage taxes.

They don't have health insurance, so the hospitals don't get paid.

They drive on the highways, using up infrastructure, water, resources, etc. - but don't pay for any of them.

Their children go to the public schools, which need to provide sufficient staffing for the additional kids (illegals), which diminishes resources for the legal children.

They take jobs away from Americans, and lower the overall standard of living by forcing wages down so that employers can pay lower salaries through a larger labor pool.

The criminal illegals fill up the prisons, requiring billions more in taxes siphoned off to build more prisons, hire more prison guards, etc...."
====================================

Case closed.

The Texas Medical Association says 19 percent of the people who live in El Paso County are enrolled in Medicaid. That amounts to more than 143,700 of its 800,000 residents.

State cuts target Medicaid<br>Local docs say drop will hurt more in El Paso (http://elpasoinc.com/readArticle.aspx?issueid=326&xrec=6183 - broken link)

As long as the big federal and state money continues to pour in, the sanctuary cities are rolling in the cash, there is big money in Medicaid, food stamps, WIC, Section 8 and so on. School administrators rake in the money like immigration is some big cash cow with all the federal grant money rolling in.

See what happens if any cuts are ever made in spending. Just wait and see.

The Texas Medicaid program consumes more than 25 percent of the state budget and is growing at a 9 percent annual rate.

Cause the Federal government doles out the social services to keep them going will the city benefits from their low-wage workers... its akin to slavery... but nobody cares, the elite liberals LOVE their low wage slaves, the federal government loves to appease their donors, and the illegals love to be in a country with running water and sewer... the problem is that the rest of the country is PAYING for these liberals that further enrich themselves...
