If you live in Maryland and oppose having your tax dollars used to subsidize tuition for illegal aliens, you will soon be able to sign a petition to stop this travesty. I will post details as soon as I have more info.

Quote:
Mr. McDonough said that in addition to a lawsuit challenging the bill's constitutionality, other suits could be filed against the state on behalf of taxpayers, out-of-state-residents and foreign nationals who are not granted in-state tuition.

Organizers would have to collect 55,736 valid signatures from Maryland voters by June 30, at least one-third of which would have to be submitted by May 31 to the state Board of Elections.

If the signatures are determined valid, the Dream Act would not gointo effect and could not become law unless approved in a November 2012 vote.

I've read about this and live in MD. I eagerly look forward to signing my name. This should be a slam dunk.

This whole business of allowing illegals and using my tax dollars to get their college eduation is just wrong, when my kids can't get any kind of aid that just stinks, to bad VA doesn't do the same thing, I would definately sign that petition.

Hopefully something like this happens in California. Illegal immigrants now get free tuition for college in this state.

I will be very surprised if we don’t get the required signatures. Marylanders are getting more and more pissed with each passing day. Even Prince Georges County, a former haven for illegals, is now cracking down. The residents of this state have had enough. The only way they won’t collect enough signatures will be if fraud is involved.

(PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, Md.) -- Who has Washington area's highest rate of deporting illegal immigrants with no criminal record? A hint -- it's not Prince William County.

It's actually Prince George's County. According to The Examiner, two-thirds of the illegal immigrants deported from the county over a 14-month period ending in February had no criminal record other than their immigration status. Prince George's County's deportation rate under the federal Secure Communities program was more than double Arizona's rate.

Perhaps not. They'll need between 150,000-200,000 signatures, because the Democrats will try to throw out as many signatures as possible.

The petion requires 55K+ vaild voter signatures...not 150-200K signatures.

perhaps if they concetrated on valid voter signatures[as is required] instead of just signatures, there would not be a reason to toss invalid signatures.
