So basically the Washington Post maintained the employment of an illegal 5 years after it was revealed to them he was in fact an illegal. I hope someone at ICE is investigating this clear violationof law.
By this time, Peter, who still works at The Post, had become part of management as the paper’s director of newsroom training and professional development. One afternoon in late October, we walked a couple of blocks to Lafayette Square, across from the White House. Over some 20 minutes, sitting on a bench, I told him everything: the Social Security card, the driver’s license, Pat and Rich, my family.
We can only hope that we will soon live in a world where the Washington Post and the Huffington Post and all the other various Posts will not be able to contract freely with individuals who would like to work for them. I just wish I had a tiny American flag to wave while I posted this.

It's already illegal to employ a person who isn't legally allowed to work in this country, small American flag or not. The Washington Post can contract with whoever they want but this guy shouldn't be here, they could easily hire him to write for them from whatever country he legally belongs in.

Yes, I am aware that it's not legal, but when the debate is over whether or not something should be legal, saying that it's not is begging the question somewhat.
