Fortunately, the law says otherwise, and that guy can probably look forward to living for a few years as a guest of Texas taxpayers in Huntsville, where he'll get to meet a LOT of Hispanic's who may not appreciate what he did.

If he survives, he'll likely come out with a different attitude.
I find it kind of odd that just because the victims were Hispanic that anyone would think that the one who shot them would be avenged in prison by other Hispanics. I mean whites get killed by Hispanics, blacks, etc. and vice versa all the time. So everytime a person of one group gets shot or killed by a member of some other group as a group they will seek revenge? Sad, that everything still seems to be about race in this country.

Was there a fence around the property that they climbed over or broke down?
You can't just go and shoot people just because they step on a piece of land, let alone if they don't even know whose land they are on.
And you can still call the police if trespassing is illegal...

If these Hispanic-"Americans" really are here legally, then they're pretty stupid. If they didn't want to get shot as illegals trespassing in our country, they should have called the local landowners in advance and asked for permission to be in the area.

Please show me the law that allows you to shoot unarmed people that you think are in the country illegally.

Not necessarily. At least, not in Texas. The statutes relating to the use of deadly force say this:

Section 9.41
a) A person in lawful possession of land or tangible, movable property is justified in using force against another when and to the degree the actor reasonably believes the force is immediately necessary to prevent or terminate the other's trespass on the land or unlawful interference with the property.

Section 9.42. Deadly force to protect property.

A person is justified in using deadly force against another to protect land or tangible, movable property:
(1) if he would be justified in using force against the other under Section 9.41; and
(2) when and to the degree he reasonably believes the deadly force is immediately necessary:
(A) to prevent the other's imminent commission of arson, burglary, robbery, aggravated robbery, theft during the nighttime, or criminal mischief during the nighttime; or
(B) to prevent the other who is fleeing immediately after committing burglary, robbery, aggravated robbery, or theft during the nighttime from escaping with the property; and
(3) he reasonably believes that:
(A) the land or property cannot be protected or recovered by any other means; or
(B) the use of force other than deadly force to protect or recover the land or property would expose the actor or another to a substantial risk of death or serious bodily injury.

A jury will have to decide whether or not the rancher met those qualifications. That's what we pay jurors to do.

Consequences like going in front of a judge, being convicted of a crime, paying a small fine and spending some time on probation.

In the United States, none of the legal penalties for trespassing involve being executed by a racist scumbag without trial. Even the wacko states like Arizona or Texas draw the line at summary execution of random brown people.

I don't know about everywhere else, but it certainly is about race in prison. Whites, blacks and hispanics all have prison gangs and they fight over race regularly.

How can you say he's a racist scumbag? His identity hasn't been released yet, so you know literally nothing about him.
