So E-Verify doesn't work?...

No, it works quite well for the non-criminal population. However, criminals will always find ways to circumvent the law. That's what they do. We need to change our SS cards to include fingerprints and photos.

So, to something more resembling a Resident Card, but that someone doesn't carry it except when applying for benefits or a job? For photos, name-changes through marriages, etc., it sounds like the card would have to be changed more often than every ten years. Any idea on what that would cost multiplied by a 300 million population (not to mention a verification of fingerprint data; That is the reason for actually having that data)?

Talk about an expensive government program, Social Security would collapse years sooner! How are you recommending that we fund this project? Taxpayer dollars or more Social Security withholding?

What in the world would this have to do with our SS contributions and fund?

In view of the billions that illegal aliens cost us in taxpayer dollars and jobs I am sure adding more identifying data to an I.D. card would be cheaper.

Far cheaper. It could be put under TSA, CBP or simply Homeland Security.

Women routinely change their names on SS cards due to marriage or divorce. I fail to see how it would be prohibitive with the new cards. But, I guess any excuse will do when trying to defend illegals. Clearly, our current cards are ripe for fraud, and must be changed.

The cards will be funded the same way they are currently funded. However, without illegal aliens, there would be no need to modify our system. Chances are we will have to change our driver’s licenses as well to prevent illegals from duplicating. It will always cost to stay one step ahead of scoundrels. But, we must do what is necessary. Or, would you suggest we continue to allow illegal aliens to steal identities, and ruin lives?

By the way, every baby born in a hospital in this country is fingerprinted. In addition, a SS card is issued within weeks of birth. Shall we discontinue this expensive process?

Or how about the expense of maintaining any LE agency or having a military? They are just necessary to a country's safety and security.

When I was hired I was finger printed and given a picture ID plus a background check. I have that id on me 10 hours a day. The rest of the time I have a DL on me plus registration and insurance while I am driving. To say one card that replaces a bunch of others is too big an inconvenience is just hogwash and a cheap excuse for illegals.

What? that like saying my roof doesnt leak, if it doesn't rain. Immigration status check is the reason for E-verify.

Maybe it should be called E-Maybe...
